Alice update

Alice has been updated with new versions of Minecraft (to 1.1), new version of mods, and new mods. However, things seem to have gone unexpectedly south and the server is down until we can hotfix some errors.

In the mean time, chat with us over IRC:

Alice is down for routine maintenance at the host

Alice is currently down because our server host is doing maintenance. I do not have an ETA.

We will be moving hosts soon though.

Recent Alice downtime

Alice crashed a couple of times today. The issue is believed to be related to leaky machines. The server is online as of writing this and we will monitor the server's health.

If you have a machine, please take the appropriate safeguards against leaks. If a leaky machine is found, the leaked items will be removed and lava will be used to prevent the leak from developing again.

Update for 2/5/2012

As of writing, updates have only been deployed to Alice, but will be pushed to Vincent (and James).
  • Alice changes:
    • Jetpacks will now prevent all fall damage
    • Quantum suit boots will now prevent all fall damage
    • Quantum helmets will now reset food levels even in Netherworld

  • General changes:
    • Magma cubes now have a 1 in 20 chance of dropping one record on death.
    • When in a private chat channel, your name, if capitalized differently, will now be highlighted properly if it is mentioned.

Alice is temporarily down

Alice is temporarily down because I accidentally misspelled a command prefixed with /stop, and thus Minecraft took that misspelling as my intention to shut down the server.

The server control panel appears to be unreachable so I cannot restart the server.

Alice is up and the biome mismatch was fixed

Alice is now up and the biome mismatch issue (caused by minor corruption) has been fixed. There should have been minimal rollback.
