The server is currently removing blocks from that world that no longer exist, and this process can take quite a while. Until it finishes, the server will be unreachable. This is due to the ChickenChunks removal and the Galacticraft update.

That said, we just pushed another client update. Please update again. Thanks!

Update: Server is up.

Just a polite reminder to say that as an SKCraft player you have the facility to claim your land so that only you and your party members may modify it. This means that all of your items and machines will be protected and it is easier to identify who the area belongs to.

You are currently entitled to claim 25 chunks for free (although this may be subject to change) with additional chunks claimable using a coal coke, from an Immersive Engineering coal coke oven!

It's highly suggested that you claim your land, as it also helps us debug and fix various things.

To find out more about claiming your land visit the wiki page.

Today's update brings the following changes:
  • Added ChickenChunks - Online chunk loading, limited to 250 chunks per player. Your chunks unload 45 minutes after you log out. This is only to alleviate some problems and allow people to expand.

We've TEMPORARILY reset the Nether because our current Nether has something wrong with it, and I do not have time right now to figure out what that problem is.

NOTHING YOU PLACE ON THE CURRENT NETHER WILL BE SAVED. The original Nether will be restored some time within the next week. If you need something from the old Nether, please contact a moderator.

We're currently aware of an ongoing problem with "tile entities" duplicating. The reason is really technical, so I'll spare you the details, but the effect is:
  1. tick rate slows
  2. the server freezes due to "crafting"
  3. the server stalls entirely

Crafting is not actually slow -- it's this problem. It only affects Nether too, so it baffles me. Over the next week, I will find some time to add some code to the server to diagnose the cause. We can unload Nether to temporarily fix it without restarting the server.

Here's a graph of the issue:

The gaps are server restarts.

Updates:
  • Botania (v224)

Changes:
  • Added a recipe for the Pneumaticraft Speed Upgrade
  • Enabled using higher tier flux capacitors/cells on TiCon tools
  • Upped the power consumption of the Immersive Engineering Grinder to 3x (just makes it faster, not require more energy per operation)

Fixes:
  • The Worldedit wand is Flint now, as usual

We've managed to quell most of the crashes and stalls that have plagued Alice for the past week. We've nearly reached the level of "crash suppression" that we had on previous Alice versions, and we've added a stall detector that will detect when the server has frozen, attempt to recover the server, but then restart the server if recovery fails (while also broadcasting messages the entire time so you don't just time out).

Crafting still has the potential to freeze the server, so we're still looking into that.

GregTech (on the client) also starts much faster now. I think some people have had load times reduced from 15 minutes to 6. We'll see if we can improve it even further, although the rest of the modpack also takes a significant amount of time.

As for Vincent, I'll see if I can get it up next week.
