Whenever I play, after some time my waypoints will disappear, or if I disconnect the waypoints will disappear. To further complicate this, they will randomly re-appear if I sign on and off thrice, but usually don't ever come back at all. =[ for now, to fix the situation I keep a notepad file with coords to re-add them manually each time...but I'm getting carpal now. This has been going on since I came back to new alice and throughout the server change.
It sounds like there's a problem with the minimap mod saving the appropriate file. Does everything have its appropriate permissions? If all else fails, try copying the data file made by the minimap mod and copy it into the appropriate spot before playing.

I am a minecraft retard. where does the minimap save its file, so that I can ensure that everything has the right permissions? And where do I copy from and copy to? If this pertains to the .aliceskcraft folder in the %appdata% area....this should..shorten the explanatin. Thanks very much Texas
Assuming you are running Windows 7 and using the Alice mod pack, it can be found here: C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\.skcraftalice\.minecraft\mods\rei_minimap There's a file for each server that you join. For copying, you can just copy the file to any location and move it back when you want to restore it.
