i would be indebted to anyone who can provide pro-help to me for the custom launcher, i want to learn how to install some new mods without screwing around too much with my current setup, any and all help is appreciated, thank you
It isn't possible to join alice with a .minecraft you created yourself, I tried, I got so close yet so far. http://wiki.skcraft.com/wiki/Frequently_asked_questions#How_do_I_get_on_to_the_modded_server.3F 1.Just click on the link, 2.click on the link for the launcher the download and 3.Download the right file for your specific platform be it .jar for mac and linux or .exe for windows . 4.Run it and change the config at the top to "alice" not default, the just log in and join the server (the wiki gives better info though)
What do you want then? This is how you install all the mods that are required to play on alice. If you need help with special mods ... maybe read the readme or the thread on minecraftforum?
i want assistance on how to install a bunch of mods onto my own minecraft, not Alice, i'm already situated on Alice XD i just want help installing some mods so that they all work together
Ok, here is a step by step tutorial: 1. Check the Readme's about how to install them 2. Check the Readme's about complications to other mods (Don't install them if complications are known) 3. Run the shit 4. If it doesn't work, de-install one mod at a time and try again 5. ***** about how i was "not helpful" because i didn't do all the work for you 6. In case of 5.: **** off <3
oh, well herp de derp, don't be mean mad =.= Download MultiMC its a really simple tool that lets you install mods at the click of a button or drag and drop, all you need to do is download the mod and the add it to an instance and it will install it for you.
I'm pretty sure that Sk's launcher can do this as well. Just click the "Addons..." button at the bottom, click the install... button to the left, and select the mod you want to install. Never used it before, but I'm pretty sure it works fairly well.
The mods usually have to be archived in one of two ways: 1. all the files and folders that need to be added to the root of the minecraft.jar are in the root of the archive 2. there is a config file in the root of the archive with instructions for the launcher to install the mod (only works if the launcher supports it) most of the time, the mods must be in zip files, but there may be a launcher out there that accepts RARs or 7z or whatever else. also, you should have the mods listed in the order they need to be installed.
Whoops >.< really should start reading the dates. I was searching for something similar on here, this was one of the only relevant things that came up. Anyways, I figured it out, you just have everything in the root of the zip folder.
