I first posted in the bugs subforum, but as suggested by shadow I'm moving it here:

Just logged in and started walking backwards as soon as i did, it seems i managed to walk out of the corrupted area, and I could move and play. Then tried walking there again, and guess what? Crashed game.

Edit: So yeah, definitely a corrupted chunk.
To reproduce the error just go to the village at coords -270, +790, and start walking West until you reach -291, +790

Edit': Been trying different things, If I run minecraft with 1,5gb max ram instead of 1, it works fine there but if i keep walking west it happens later. If i max the ram at 2gb, just about the same, a little bit further but same story later.

Edit'': Running java 1.7 solved the issues.
Maybe it wasn't a corrupted chunk after all...
