The thing is, we might have mix-matched chunks anyway when we update our biomes mod / add new mods.

I wonder what will happen to the people's base that are made up of Basalt and Marble when Redpower gets removed...

Well what about the distances between things? I don't want spawn to be randomly next to my base. o_O

Basalt could be switched out for the biomes o plenty volcanic rock with a simple block change.

The only thing I shall miss is frame doors :(

Basalt and Marble can be replaced by Abyssal and Quarried Stone from the new Railcraft versions.

Like mentioned before I think that it might be better to give the players, who wants to save their progress, a storage room to save their machines, resources, etc. After the update they can start with their stuff and only had to re-build their base instead of starting with nothing. (That's more like a compromise between the first and the second vote)

AE can do that. Dump everything onto drives and keep all that stuff in your inventory. :)

Yeah, but AE Drives can only hold up to 63 items :/ When you have a lot of items than you would have to craft more Drives. That wouldn't be a problem for 2/3 of the players, but those who can't afford AE yet will have the bad card.

Did you know that you can put an AE drive inside of an AE drive?

That still changes almost nothing, since you still would have to craft those and not everyone can afford that

Some people play to create large builds, not to gather resources.

Gathering resources enables large builds, which is partly why I start working on my lumber yard.

It seems like this needs to be repeated on every page because ppl don't like to read the OP or other replies that ask the same question.

Learn to read what other people say dude. Otherwise it makes you look like a really ignorant S.O.B.

But at some point you start.

Resetting the chunks destroys that progress.

I would hate to lose all my stuff that I currently have. I'm just starting to get some end game materials, iridium and some other stuff.

If we do have to start over from scratch it wouldn't be the end of the world (not pun intended) but it happens and it will.

I think the only thing that I would miss from RP2 is the Red Alloy Wire being able to stick to walls and ceilings, especially for teleporters from my house to my basement.

    Just my 2 cents.

If we were to reset, or even jsut port the world. Losing RP2 functionality, would be a little hard to get use to. But I've been messing around with MFR's programmable rednet controller. And I have to say, once you get the hang of it, it's really awesome. Granted it's not the old fashioned wire, but it's more like AE cable, with the look and how it stays in the air (much like jacketed cable). But glitch has said it better then me.

What about all the other things in Redpower like Flax, Logic Gates, Automations (we'd need to use BC) and Frames? I don't care much for the Rednet wire as that can be done a bunch of different ways now.

Why does everyone forget that GregTech has Automations that are the same or better than RP2.
