When you're installing the modpack, it let you choose between GregTech and GregTech Lite (default). I've been looking around in the forum to see the difference (far away from the load times), but i can't find it. Why GregTech Lite loads faster? Would I miss something using it?
A bunch of auto-generated recipes were removed from GregTech Lite, which makes up 90% of GregTech's loading time. Because the server still runs the full version of GregTech, your NEI effectively has incorrect or missing recipes for a number of items if you play on the server. However, if you are not playing GregTech (yet), these differences will not matter to you 99% of the time, and it actually removes a lot of clutter from NEI that involves GregTech machines that you don't have. If you do choose to play GregTech from the start, you should use the full version so that you have all the correct recipes. If you choose to play GregTech later, you can right click Alice and choose "Force update" to pick your desired GregTech version.
