IC2 + GregTech in 1.4.7? Yes. It was balanced, mostly bug-free and almost never crashed. IC2 + GregTech in 1.5.2? Eh. IC2 was already starting to suffer under the work-in-progress 'improvements' to the EU power system. GregTech was introducing a lot of new balance changes at once, a lot of which were not quite finished. IC2 Experimental + GregTech in 1.6.4? No. Especially IC2 is a laggy, buggy, crashy mess, and while GT has some of its own problems, it also suffers from IC2's crap. One of the many benefits of having only experimental builds available for a MC version. GregTech independant from IC2 in 1.7? That might actually be pretty cool. We'll see about that one. GT has changed a lot, even in the early alpha builds for 1.7. Maybe it will actually be back to 1.4.7 quality. One can hope, I guess.
