I need a Mac OS X user to help me test some of the media player stuff because I have no Mac OS X system myself. Primarily it would involve using TeamViewer (a desktop sharing program, where you'd have complete control) and me trying to see how exactly I can get the media player running in a minimal number of steps. If you can help, please post on this thread.
I would also suggest using a VM to run OS X on your computer since it would be easier for you to work, but if you still need someone with a Macintosh computer I am running OS X 10.8.3 and I am ready if you ever need me.
I would be happy to help. Running 10.6.8 on a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook, 2GB RAM (soon to upgrade to 8); so should be good enough
I'm willing to hlp as well, 4 gb ram 2.16 ghz intel core 2 duo macbook running 10.7.5 (shhh bad 2000 macbook ikik
i would consider linux and mac as the same sort of thing, especially where things like java and files, which are somewhat the same...
at the root terminal base they are the same. both single user modes/command line only mode's are the same
sk if you want i will help i have a macbook pro running 10.8.3 with a 2.7 GHz intel core i7 and 16 GB of ram
no. they are not the same. try: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/...eral-chit-chat/434267-linux-unix-mac-o-s.html "Yes. Indeed 10.5 and 10.6 are Unix (tm) certified which linux is not. To be more specific, Mac OS X is built on Darwin---a derivative of BSD---running on a Mach microkernel." or: http://superuser.com/questions/94357/mac-os-x-unix Also try: http://www.netneurotic.de/mac/unix/timeline.html
All operating systems are alike and different, but in different ways. In this case, I am interested in how Mac OS X loads libraries and applications, which is fairly Mac OS X-specific.
Either way, I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with an Intel Celeron D and 3GB's of RAM running 10.5.1 if you want it.... It's not an amazing computer and the drivers are somewhat screwed up but if you just need to see how the macs load stuff you can use it over teamviewer. Maybe you could go to an apple store if what you need to do is within what a standard account can do.
