Try getting a hold of your ISP and seeing if they have any connection errors on their end

Yeah, I'll do that. But I'm beginning to think that it might be a server-side problem because the SKCraft website also loads painfully slow... but other websites work as usual. Didn't try other games yet, I'll check if I can play TF2. If I can't I'll call my ISP.

Could be a DNS issue, try doing tracert.com to see how you are getting to the site

Who needs a website to do packet tracing? There's a terminal command for that - and also on Windows (!). Usually I get 0% packet loss but when these... "phases" happened I had like 70%. It seems to have resolved mostly though, I get a few occasional disconnects in the afternoon but I think that's because people come home from work and hog the internet around my village...

The whole point of the tracing is to find out exactly where its going, regardless of the loss. For all you know, your requests could be going through texas, new york, paris, japan, and italy before it finally gets to where its suppose to go.

Yep, wouldn't be the first time I've heard of that. I know a guy who gets routed through a European peer exchange when connecting to a west coast USA server even though he lives on the west coast.
