I recently built a frame quarry, and whenever I run it my client crashes. I was able to repeat it a few times over, so I opened the game with the console. I posted everything starting at the first WARNING message. SoundSystem shutting down... Author: Paul Lamb, www.paulscode.com Edit: Just discovered it's breaking my levers and timers, too.
1. If its breaking your levers it means your using covers and not panels. 2. Frame quarries can be very prone to crashes, low bandwidth, quarry is too big. I'm just listing the things since I can't read the error log cause I'm on my phone but make sure your using vanilla chests because iron chests and frames cause a client-side crash.
Switched to regular chests, and no progress. I'm using a relatively small one (5x5), so I don't think it's size. Also, the levers that are popping off are coming off of cobble blocks and are not mobile. They only break when the client crashes.
Computer's fine. it's got 16 gigs of ram and a 6 core processor. I'll give a smaller quarry a shot, though.
Yep, Frames do not like IronChests mods' chests, AT ALL. Had the same problem with my quarry. If a TBM, I suggest a MagTube deployment system. If however, a Quarry like you describe, A large chest inventory and manual transfer is the only way :/
I'd just like to point out these lines so people stop suggesting Iron Chests is the problem: I'm pretty sure it is just a RedPower bug. Does it cross over any chunk borders?
It was, but in this error log you don't see anything that has to do with Iron Chests. The two lines of the error that I quoted previously are replaced by files that have to do with Iron Chests in your error log. In this case it references eloraam.logic.TilePointerRenderer(The class that renders the pointer on blocks such as a timer, hence the reason why I bolded timers in the quote).
My bad, I hadn't actually read his log, and with similar symptoms and the same block that caused the crash for me, I just assumed. You're right. When I look at the log, it does point to exactly what you said.
Well, I've kinda fixed the problem. I moved my quarry from underground to above ground, and that seems to work flawlessly. I wouldn't doubt it, as i have a horizontal quarry going. After a while, it started crashing even without crossing chunk borders, though.
Okay, it's the chunk borders. That's pretty much definite now. Edit: Chunk borders + any non-vanilla repeater type entity. Always shows up with a render error.
