As I can see, there is a mechanism which lets items that was dropped onto chests by players - storing in this chests.

Can someone from admins/developers make possible to store ANY item that was fell onto chest to store inside (not only dropped by player)?

This will be great e.g. for semi-automatic farming of cactus, melons, canes, pumpkins..

    TY ahead for comments.
P.S. sorry for my english :)

I approve of this. SK said to me that he could implement it. But he didn't say that he will. Maybe now, if some more people request it.

I remember sk not implementing this on purpose to discourage mass-farms and overflow (when the chest is full). It is by all means possible, so if he changes his mind it could happen.

If I understand you correctly, you can just hook an obsidian pipe up to a redstone clock and have it run to the chest.

This is Vincent. I don't think obsidian pipes are vanilla.

Can't you already do this on Vincent and Alice? Just drop items onto a chest and have it sucked up? pretty sure it'll work for any drops not dropped by the player.

Did you read the first thread? He mentioned that in his first sentence. What is your point?

Unless sk changed it, items will only enter chests when dropped by a player. Of course, the appropriate pipe on Alice will work.

Another idea: chests, powered with a redstone signal stay open and accept all items and they don't when closed (sometimes it's annoying if they suck all the shit in)

This. I think sk said also he was going to re-enable all drops going to chests so this is a must.
I remember when all items funneled into chests - I died and my items fell into someone else's locked chest. Lesson learned xD.
