Or we could literally just have cells follow the same routes as rails

Alternatively, we could scrap the wired crap and use microwave radiation instead. Plz ozcr add microwave radiation.

Like I said, I don't see the point of this. If it would do something like item transportation (although we do have pipes of sorts thanks to CraftBook, and storage minecarts exist) or scripting/control of CraftBook stuff, or maybe long-range redstone, that might be useful. Because as a means of communication it's useless.

No, official communication on the Vincent United Nations will be be facilitated by chat nor pm. It must be done ingame on a more stable medium than the chat. Books are inconvenient. Therefore, cells.

If we want real convenience though, we will obviously implement radio towers with receiver dishes and antennae and stuff. Then they have to be shaped correctly so that the microwaves hit the antenna in the base station and then we will be able to send information long distances! Not like books, with books you'd have to get like paper and leather and then walk to the UN building. Walk! Argh!

The only practical use I see for this here is if we take hardcore to another notch and have only local chat, not global chat. Otherwise, just /tell someone or just shout it in global chat.

I never really liked local chat myself I trialled it back when I ran a server. We had around 80 people on at one time and nobody really liked it. So I would imagine that on a small server like Vincent nobody will like it either.

How will they maintained? You just lay the wires down and use them. If someone breaks one by accident and then you cant find where it broke (If this isn't implemented in the plugin then it needs to be) Then send out a signal and if there's a break in the line it tells you the coordinates and you can either fix it your self or hire someone else to do it.

unless something gets added to this to allow manipulation of other resources via cells, the only thing I can see this being used for is decorations.
A way to write scripts, a way for multiple cells to be connected into a giant supercell, some sort of resource monitoring capability, all of these things I could get behind. Communication? meh.

Write scripts? Your going to need a modded client for that. Unless you use a freaking ton of signs.
Just use computercraft/other lua computer mods.

why would I need a mod for that? Sk has claimed he would add lua scripting to craftbook and got lost in his pocket dimension. save it as books or raw files or something. Besides, other than the necessary api hooks to pull variable data, you would only need to implement basic logic operations. Maybe I'll try to get back into plugins and write scriptbook or something.
