Would it be possible to finish the wiki? I have been using: http://wiki.sk89q.com/wiki/Category:Mechanisms#Mechanisms and http://skcraft.com/wiki/vincent/ but there seem to be a lot of things that are either missing, outdated, or needs more explanation. for instance: any custom recipes? what is the cooking pot stuff? is there more wool uses besides green/yellow? though someone said something about rail intersections bunch of other stuff I have managed to figure out a lot myself and get help from others, but would be useful if have a complete list of the servers features (maybe if someone who knows does the outline other players who have time can fill them in?) Thanks
ok, so two things. First, that first link is to the craftbook wiki which can be edited by anyone. It's entirely up to the userbase and the occasional appearance of the developers to manage its completion. Not to mention, much of craftbooks features are disabled on alice, including the cauldron, the cooking pot, and chunk anchors. second, the vincent wiki is dependent on the wiki team, who seem to lack desire to finish said wiki. It may show some progress once SK returns, but who knows. It's been outdated as far back as I can remember.
Our own wiki never really got much attention due to the massive amount of work that it would have needed to keep it up to date and for the fact that the pack changes every version. There wasn't enough people available to keep the wiki up and running so it got left.
well I feel like at the very least we could get the vincent side completed, since nothing usually changes much over there
Nah, a wiki for Vincent would be much easier to maintain. We were referring to Alice when saying how its basically more trouble than its worth. With Alice, mods change every version and nobody has time to reinvent the wheel, since almost every mod now has its own wiki or website
And on top of that, almost every mod has poor documentation, or documentation written in the mentality that information is actually Viet Cong units.
Maybe instead of actually making a wiki page about it we could just link a video to direwolf channel??
still this doesn't really explain the total lack of care on the vincent wiki. All of that information is several years old and nobody has bothered to update or remove outdated information, despite the fact that it hasn't been touched since at least as far back as 1.5
Problem with videos: - Have to watch the whole thing just to find one small piece of information needed - Constantly pausing - Not text, so have to repeatedly rewind - Videos take ages to load in TonyAbbottSupremeSpeedTM - Videos
or, maybe - this might just be a crazy idea, but stick with me - we could make the wiki open and have the wiki team be in charge of moderating it, locking pages and banning bad editors and stuff
I wonder if NEI pulls the recipies from serverside or clientside?... or if it has Spigot / Bukkit support?
