I've been less enthusiastic about playing Minecraft lately, so things have gone quite wayside here. For the foreseeable future, I will keep both Alice and Vincent up. For Alice, if it keeps running, we'd likely switch to a public modpack. People who play on the servers now should probably add me on Skype. Please PM me to consider it. If you want to be moderator, also PM me. Skype is necessary. We still receive new member applications, but the queue for them now spans several months. If you play GTA V on PC, PM me and we can heist together too.
Hey sk89q , how do i PM to you? I want to be a moderator(my username is dizz3l but i forget wen i whitelisted
Not necessarily...and I don't quite understand how you got to that conclusion either... All that can truly be said so far is that we may switch to a new public pack once certain things are settled. As of now, the current Alice will stay as is.
OK, great. Thanks for clearing that up. As a follow-up question, will the public pack be "balanced" by disabling certain recipes, etc? I don't play on any public packs because of how game breaking mods can be in combination with others.
Of course, meaning that there won't be some ridiculously overpowered recipes and dangerous items. By the term "public," it'll most likely just end up being us taking a FTB mod pack and modifying it so it fits those specifications. Sk hasn't truly gotten back to me on that moderator PM though...
Depends if us MPT people get off our ass and do something. We have a pack, just it's pretty much the same as the last one... there are no new mods for 1.7 that we haven't seen before that are actually good.
If we didn't reset the world, everyone would get bored again very very very quickly (e.g. around 3 seconds). A world reset is for certain.
It's not about IF people get bored because it's just inevitable, the important thing is for how long people will not be.
I feel the same way, when I started college Minecraft has been less important... I liked the idea that we had a custom modpack, but I understand its allot of work that goes in to it.
Ive been checking back here every couple of days for months now waiting for a new Alice to come out. While I love the fact that we have always had a custom modpack, I understand its an incredible amount of work to upkeep, and we just dont have the interest level needed to keep it going. Even though the custom modpack is what drew me here many years ago, I would still happily remain a part of this community if we switched to a public modpack. Also, I feel that if we switched to something like FTB, it would be easier for newcomers to join.
I get bored from having to focus much of my time resource gathering rather than exploring the mods. I almost never get into most of the mods due to time constraints. :-/
In this version of Alice this was not a problem - get a quarry and you can pretty much power it with 6-7 wind mills to be fast enough. Leave your PC for the night and when I did that - I had 12k Iron waiting for me.
I stopped playing for three reasons: 1. Everyone else stopped playing 2. Limited inventory space is annoying af with all these mods 3. Startup time was too long. Even on this beast of a computer, it took waaay too long to load up Alice.
