If you haven't heard, Minecraft 1.2 is a fairly big update. The major changes include: Worlds can now be up to 256 blocks high, double the height of current worlds (!) A new jungle biome has been added A new ocelot (a feline) mob has been added that you can tame Improved mob AI for all mobs; mobs will be able to pathfind and follow you around corners and obstacles! Unfortunately, these changes (namely the new biome) necessitate a new world because the algorithm has changed. As planned, Vincent and James will be getting a world reset, but with the following caveats: James and Vincent may be merged. You will be able to keep your items and houses from Vincent, though this will be a manual process where we move your house over from the old world. At the moment, we have no plans to make any major changes to Alice's world. A full list of all the new Minecraft features for 1.2 so far is below: Ladders regained their collision box. Vines are climbable if you push into a solid block while next to them. Added jungle biome (requires a new world) and new wood and leaf types. Some nights in villages will be worse than others. Added Redstone Lamp.
So when is the update supposed to take place cause I can't seem to find any kinda clue and my work comps suck at doing anything involving the inter webz?
They forgot to mention that you can hit the legs of mobs in 1.2. I am really glad to see that ... EXP-farming FTW. Anyway, i like that you reset the map. Maybe more players will join/stay on Vincent then.
im only on alice because it was new and i wanted to try the mods also i have asked if vanhall can be moved under a jungle biome so we can build a tree city and have the underground one aswell (considering how much effort went in to making the underground city)
Here is something about just how good the new ai is. I did an experiment where there is a winding path through lava, and a zombie somewhere on the path. The zombie took a path to me without falling in the lava. Everyone, beware...
Good thing is that you can hit their legs then ... so i guess we will become just a bit more cautious ^^
Does 'no plans to make changes to Alice' mean that you're opposed to the idea, or just haven't thought about it?
