Suggestion: An /afk command that teleports you away to a box at spawn where you can be watched by players in spawn. It should also set your status to AFK in the playerlist, and then as soon as you move, you become un-AFK, and are teleported back to the location you were before you afk-ed.
I love this idea! I also have something to improve upon it thou and a few other things. The first being that when someone does /afk, please don't make it show up in the chat (Seriously, I don't care if IHugCreeperz8088888 is AFK or not. If i want to know, i'll do /list. The second thing about this is that it could be a potential way to easily get out of a sticky situation (PvE, PvP, etc.) so you'd need like a 10-20sec delay maybe? But this is an awesome idea.
Red suggested an unobtrusive and balanced /afk. Thou my method of afk is disconnect or an afk room, this is a better idea than the conventional /afk found on Bukkit plugins such as Essentials which freezes you and gives you invincibility.
If I remember correctly, I wrote an /afk command for CommandBook. Usage is /afk [status] and it will tell people that you are AFK if they /msg you.
Would you be able to make it so that if someone said your name in chat, it would tell them that you're AFK as well. Could also make it somewhat intelligent and like if someone's chat post has said AFK person's name and AFK in it, it could just ignore them and not tell them.
I for one, would love to see this implimented in a non-obtrusive way, but the issue I find w/ the teleporting away part, is I many times AFK in areas that I NEED to be in, such as an apiary i have in a distant forest biome that I use for cross breeding certain bees, and I don't have a World Anchor there or any other type of chunk loader
I meant the proprietary server plugin. I do have access to CommandBook but I'm not too fond of messing with it. And yes, it is possible to have them. You do have that account for it!
I liked the idea of tp-ing away to spawn because it would enable people to watch afk89q while he afks. Kekekeke.
