I bet it would. But I think i've watched enough for today, the stream wasn't the only anime I've watched today
I don't know why this got locked, but I'm opening it up again for a civil debate. Mods, PM me if there was a previous reason. Keep it civil!
I think gay marriage is perfectly okay. It doesn't do any damage to anyone. We have rights, (or at least in the US,) and people can do what they choose as long as it does not violate another person's rights, which it does not (unless they are being forced into this relationship). But if a law is put up, do you think that people are still going to do it? Yes! How are they supposed to enforce this law anyway?
Eh my ideas might be a bit off the wall, so please tell me what you think... In the USA we have a separation of church and state. Marriage is a joining of two people in front of God, friends and family. So instead of giving marriage to gay people, we should just take away the benefits our government gives to married people. Or maybe alternatively gay people get the marriage equivalent for any rights they are missing. That way each party can be happy without breaching their opinions or faiths. I think?
Marriage predates religion, and is a civil matter. Can atheists or other non-Christians still marry now? Yes.
I had a feeling I was wrong. I actually didn't know atheists could be married, or even thought about it... Of course non-Christians can marry though, so through and through My ideas is shot down. Ah well! Terrible sentences, sorry, I can't listen to a live show and think at the same time so well.
You weren't 'wrong'. To some this 'issue' isn't as clear cut as people like myself see it, and you are certainly entitled to your opinion. Take Norway as an example. All marriages are lawful through the state, but only heterosexual couples may marry with the church. To the religious, marriage at a church may be more of a symbolic thing, with civil marriage is still required for lawful marriage.
