I recently talked to SK a bit about his basic server costs to run his MC servers and I thought about it for a few days and decided I would see if I could spare the money I would send him enough money to run the server for at least a month or two. After thinking about it a bit longer I though that maybe if even half of the people who play on SK's servers donated $1 USDA a month (almost anyone can spare one dollar) then it would make things allot easier on him and if enough money was brought in per month then he may even be able to relocate/upgrade our current servers and kill back some of our more recent lag issues. So I decided to post this idea and see just how many people would be willing to setup this monthly payment (not to keep playing or gain any special powers/privileges) just to make SK's life a bit easier and possibly make our server experiences and draw in more players. SO! if your will to join in on the awesome cheap easy plan then Just post on here saying HELL YEAH I support this plan and if we get enough people on board we might see some nice changes soon. I am always in for giving money to help the server. Downside is that i have to use paypal which i don't like at all.
Oh, congratulations for the initiative! I would help gladly if I could but i don't have credit cards and I don't know how I could send money, even to paypal since I'm brazilian and I don't know most of paypal payment options and the ones I know (cards, etc) aren't "reachable" to me! The best way to me would be that thing you print a page with some bar code and then you pay at some store or bank since I don't use bank accounts, credit cards and stuff like that.... I'm sorry but I don't know how it's called in english... I guess it's probably something like bank bill or bank payment but I'm not sure! Little Edit: I have just figured out the name. I'm on board with the both of you Madness and LGuasso as I don't like Paypal ether and we need another way to get money to SK cause I know thats hurting his donations alot only having paypal as a donation option but I'll have to talk to him and work that out with him on another way to get the money to him.
I would be totally in to helping by giving some money to help the server, the only problem for me is i'm only a student and its my holidays so I don't exactly get a steady "pay" at the moment, but if I have it, I would gladly give it to help the server, even if its through paypal.
One thing to think about is that at only 1 dollar a month one year of support in this way is only $12 USDA so even if you wanted to do it in one bulk shot for a year you could.
Ohh ok yeah, that would definitely be better and doable for me since I wouldn't have to be so cautious about if i have money or not (I don't get a lot).
Yeah I hear ya there, I have a girl and Kid to support on top of hard times and crappy job so knowing if I'll have the money or not is a constant thought in the back of my mind.
Yeah its hard times indeed its a pity, but you know what they say "Be happy with what you've got", even if its not much its enough to make ya happy.

I hate it when people complain about not having money when they clearly do. You just don't want to spend it on here, which is cool too, you don't have to. But don't ***** about not having money unless you live on the streets.
if you have dont have a creditcard but you do have a bank account and paypal it is really easy to donate. the only downside is that you first have to send the money to your paypal account and that will take a few days. and yes ofcourse i want to spend some money on a server that i enjoy every day.

I guess the main thing holding most of us back from donating is the fact that most of us don't have a credit cards or verified Paypal accounts. I'd happily donate $10/mo to the server but the problem stands. I have tried to work with Paypal before with cash --> Greendot Moneypak cards --> Paypal money but the result of that was a waste of ~$60 because in order to send any amount of money through Paypal, you need to verify your Paypal account with a bank account or credit card and the ways of getting around that were of course, outdated. Another thing I've tried to pay for stuff online is get a Visa gift card which sort of acts like a debit card but most if not all online sites required additional information such as the name, address, etc. associated with that card which you cannot specify when purchasing a Visa gift card. For all the people like me who want to donate, i'd suggest going to your local Walmart, 7-Eleven or K-Mart and purchase a Greendot MoneyPak card (Basically a gift card for Paypal) and PM sk89q the code on that card so he can put it on his Paypal account. The only thing about this is that Greendot MoneyPak cards have a $4.95 service fee and a minimum of $20 can be put on the card so you'd need "a little more" than $1.
I wonder if we can send money to paypel accounts from another countries... We could like send to sk's paypal or to someone who has a paypal verified account then they would repass to sk! I have never send money to paypal before. Is it like any commom banking transfer? Again, I wish I could have bank payment slip but anyway...
I agree with you gk on getting something like a Greendot MoneyPak but as you said, they have a minimum fee and most people wouldn't want to do something like that. And also you forget gk, half the people on the server probably don't have anything like Walmart, 7-Eleven or K-mart anywhere near them,so thats mostly out of the questoin for most, so thats also a reason holding people back as well.
Well I've been thinking on the same grounds that it's the lack of people being able to get money to SK cause of no paypal or credit cards and I've been toying with the idea of bank routing or wire transfers but I don't know how well that would work from one country to another unless using an international bank account. Anyone know more about this then I do or something close cause the only think I can think of is if SK setup a separate bank account for just his MC server that people could wire money to. Doing it this way may only work if people sent enough money for a full year cause only sending 1$ will cost enough to basically be a waist.
Sending money on Paypal can be as simple as sending an e-mail, really. I have no idea how it works internationally thou. I imagine that it'd work swimmingly compared to other payment methods thou. You don't have a 7-Eleven? Where do you live? Ireland? It's a good idea, Cain but if people have no way of getting credit cards, or a verified Paypal account, what makes you think they can get a bank account to wire money Plus, most banks charge a service fee as well, and if you have a bank account, you can have a verified Paypal account.
Yeah I only thought of that cause of some people not wanting to get a credit card or people like me who just don't trust Paypal much anymore. After thats said and done we're right back at the start where only credit cards or Paypal would be workable ideas mailing money would be at the same point as a bank wire cause the charge would be to great for only 1 dollar and getting anything but USD in the mail would make it a little hard to even do anything with.
