Actually, I am working on a texture pack for Alice right now. It will take some more time, as I now have only textured about the half of all mod textures. Also I made it up almost completely from the scratch. It is based on an old tex pack I found, which got shut down during beta or so. It has a very unique style, so I'm sure not everyone will like it. SedanrA was a great help in sense of inspiration. Thank you! Anyway: Here is a little preview -> Screenshot: http://h11.abload.de/img/unbenanntaikyn.jpg Some (not completely finished) png files:
Do I smell irony? Maybe unique was the wrong word... English is not my mothertounge. I meant to say it looks rather "special" and "takes some time to get used to"
Well, it does look good ... but very unique indeed. Won't use it, it's too simple in my opinion. Übrigens: immer wieder schön andre Deutsche aufm Server zu treffen XD
cOd was acutualy one inspirational source. @sk89q: I am currently working on the ctm-file for the Glass. That way I think it will be far more smooth.
May I suggest something? Try using Ovo's Rustic. It is a Great texture pack. Even though it's 64x64, it doesnt cause lag at all.
Lag caused by the size of a texture pack is subjective to your computer's hardware specifications (i.e. if you have a good computer, it seems like it doesn't cause much extra lag whereas it might on a less powerful computer). I have to admit though, nice texture pack. But not my cup of tea.
What you said about texture packs is one of the two reasons that makes the default texture pack a 16*16 one, the second reason is (and you know it if you watch Notch youtube Channel, wich is not named notch but I don't remember exactly) that Notch makes textures himself, but only in low resolutions, in 16x16, and it adds a "genre" to his games... I just heard that 0x10c will have better graphisms
