I'm from the UK, and it's pretty alien to me that some people disagree with evolution. Anyone got anything to say on the matter. Please don't: Talk about religion. Resort to name calling. Make stuff up, try to show evidence that is recent, and make sure it has not been disproved. (For example the human eye and bacterial flagellum arguments should not be used as in both cases evidence has been found to show their evolution.) Do not link to crazy sites. Thy to use wikipedia, newscientist, and anthropological journals.
Someone who doesn't believe in Science should use scientifical research and evidence to disprove science? That is like if you want to disprove the islam with the use of the bible.
Evidence in which meaning? Evidence is a scientifically proven fact that is until today believed as to be true. This is the definition of evidence, some people may think otherwise and say that the bible is proof/evidence that god exist (which is, to them, in their little, naive world. Everything could be declared as evidence if you want to.
Why do you want to win anyway? And why do you think it would change anything? People will still believe in stupid things. Just as you believe that you can change something with "winning" this debate.
Win was the wrong word. But I guess I was wondering if evolution deniers have any other belief strengthening points than the bible and taken out of context, incorrect quasi-scientific evidence.
They don't, that is why the evolution is a scientifically proven theory. If any men or even animal or stone would have a valid argument against evolution it wouldn't be considered a fact. This doesn't mean absolute truth, of course. Keep that in mind.
Question: Do you believe in evolution? Answer: Do you believe in gravity? The gist of it is that because people hear the "evolution theory" it is considered just a theory which means in their perception: guesswork, a simple conjecture, an opinion, or just speculation. They usually don't (want to) know what a scientific theory means. They also don't (want to) know that evolution is a fact, and the scientific theory tries to explain why it happens, just like Aristotle, Galileo, Newton, and Einstein developed models of gravity, each of which constitutes a theory of gravity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_as_fact_and_theory
May be a bit rude of me, but this thread should not even exist, closing now. There is no debate over evolution, rational individuals believe it, and irrationals have no business debating.
Looky, I can still post here. I must be some kind of mystical being! Believe in the Cran, for I have just dis-proven everything....
