With Alice being released there are bound to be a few mods that people wanted that were not added pleas leave what mods you feel should be in the pack AND say why it should be added. thanks ~JTHR
Tech Reborn - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/techreborn IC2 and Gregtech 2 remade as one more stable mod. This will add a real tech progression line that we currently don't have on Alice, as well as the cables support multi-part, making it instantly better than ic2. Agricultural Revolution - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/the-agricultural-revolution More in depth farming and farming machines, currently we only have the ender io farming station and actually additions farmer, this new mod will add a new farming option for people to pursue. Agricraft - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/agricraft Better farm crops, currently in alpha so not sure about stability, I have tried it and haven't run into any problems however. Chest Transporter - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/chest-transporter Utility mod to make life easier, allows players to make items to move chests, we currently only have the moving wand from not enough wands, and it is a bit expensive. Random Things - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/random-things Adds a bunch of different features that are handy such as hidden levers, wireless redstone and player interfaces. PSIonic Upgrades - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/psionic-upgrades Adds new psi spells and sensors allowing for more advanced psi spells, also nice new ebony and ivory psi armour to go with the ebony and ivory CADs. Multipart Covers - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/simple-covers OR http://chickenbones.net/maven/codechicken/ForgeMultipart/1.10.2-2.0.0.20/ Chisel and bits is a very good mod for making more intricate things but the covers made by the saw are a pain to use, a cover mod could be added to make things a bit simpler if someone simply wants to hide cables. OPTIONAL MODS - These client-side mods players can choose themselves when launching the pack I already pushed an update to dev-dw20 with these standard optionals, if anyone has more optional mod suggestions just put them here as well Better Foliage - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/better-foliage Dynamic Surroundings - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/dynamic-surroundings Foamfix - http://asie.pl/foamfix/ Optifine - http://optifine.net/home InvTweaks - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/inventory-tweaks MouseTweaks - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/mouse-tweaks WE-Cui - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/worldeditcui-forge-edition Possible Optional Mods: Liteloader - http://www.liteloader.com/ Gammabright - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/gammabright Macro Mod - http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum...39-macro-keybind-mod-1-11-2-version-available TabbyChat - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/tabbychat-2 I have tried NEI and am choosing not to include it because a lot of the features currently seem broken
Please NO gregtech... It is just pain... And I am fan of greg tech but ic2 curently have lot of its own **** For others im ok with. And now to my suggestions: Inventory tweaks - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/inventory-tweaks Realy handy for personal inventory managment also refils your hotbar stack. It is just awesome
Computronics - http://wiki.vex.tty.sh/wiki:computronics Adds a slew of fun and useful OpenComputers peripherals.
Problem with this: You have to do GT bcs simply it changes every ***** recipe and as we all know GT an TC didn't liked each other (not sure how it is in this version tho).
This is TechReborn, not Gregtech, it's a stand alone mod that changes nothing from other mods, it's simply another tech mod people can choose to do or not do. It's not actually just IC2 and GT, it's simply based off of it, with a completely different maintainer and different code.
Started to get into these on Sky Factory 3. Flux Networks - https://mods.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/248020-flux-networks Description: Flux Networks gives you the ability to build Wireless Energy Networks. It allows you to customise these networks and manage the flow of energy across your world. Removing the need to have cables going everywhere, hence decreasing lag and saving you time. Energy can also be transferred across dimensions making energy management simple. Integrated Dynamics - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/integrated-dynamics Integrated Dynamics is a mod which requires you to build networks for complex automation and system integration. It is a mix between bundled redstone, BuildCraft gates and Applied Energistics-style networks.
On Alice 1.7 we had a "Quest Book" - not sure what mod that was. Any chance we could have something similar - I get a bit lost without it making random parts and machines without much of a plan to what I'm doing.
I'd really love to have RebornStorage. It's an addon to Refined Storage that adds an AE1-style multiblock autocrafter. Since Refined Storage already has simple and powerful autocrafting, but requires one crafter for only 9 recipes, this would be a good way to save space, as well as a throwback to AE1 times. Just needs to be appropriately expensive since it's without doubt an extremely powerful autocrafting system. Maybe one could make its CPU blocks very expensive but pattern storage blocks cheaper, to encourage it being used as a way to save space instead of as a stupidly OP fast autocrafting system. TechReborn is not GregTech. GT changes a ton of stuff from vanilla and from other mods. TechReborn doesn't. It's a remake of pre-experimental IC2 and GT2. It's really just the old IC2+GT experience from 1.4.7. Yes please.
Some time ago on Alice (I think 1.4?) there were mods which incentivised players to explore the world, complex dungeons with unique loot, difficult monsters which could only be killed by upgrading your gear. I fondly remember grinding my way down a dungeon to find a unique item along the lines of "Fish Sword" which was a vanilla fish with all possible enchants, and proudly displaying it in my base as the spoils of a great and epic journey. The tech mods or magic mods would serve as additions to help you explore the world, fight bosses you couldn't fight before, etc. This RPG element from prior Alice versions is something I've come to miss in Alice 1.8, I don't know much about the current mods that are out there, but I am on the lookout for such mods, so far I found these: Roguelike Dungeons Mod - http://minecraftsix.com/roguelike-dungeons-mod/ Allows for the creation of custom, expansive dungeons filled with loot, traps, silverfish, etc. Doesn't add any new items and loot can be integrated with other mods on the server. Would give adventure seeking players a good reason to start looking for dungeons and gear towards it. Recurrent Complex - https://mods.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/223150-recurrent-complex Generates biome specific structures, ruins, artifacts. Adds great exploration element, enriches the experience of players as they set sail or head towards new horizons. All in all, it simply makes walking around more enjoyable. I'd love to know if other players feel the same way I do. If I find more mods like these I'll update this post. Give me some feedback!
Hi! I'm missing some of the magic mods: Witchery, Thaumcraft and Twilight (I don't do blood magic.) I spend a lot of time doing those and forestry after setting up a base, I don't have other things I like doing better than those. I miss the mod that allowed us to make our own music records and apple&milk&tea. I loved having my music in-game. We used to have a block that took us to the corrupted sector for mining, It's much nicer to not have to mine where you live. Perhaps it would help to keep quarries from lagging the server? Edited to say Chisel & bits is awesome! (I probably won't miss forge micro blocks) Maybe "Flat colored blocks" by the same developer would be fun too.
1. Applecore, so you can see your current saturation status, and both stats of food (Fullness and saturation)simply by holding it in your hand. 2. Any light level overlay mod so you can see where mobs are able to spawn, preferably the one that replicates the old NEI version, rather than the ugly numbers on or the one with the really gaudy dots. Apparently already have it, the numbers one, but it was a different keybind. 3. Veinminer or treecapitator, or a similar mod. Just something I have gotten used to and I miss having greatly in this pack. Veinminer may have to be strictly limited to reduce server impact, but it is really nice to have around to speed things up. As uber suggested I would highly recommend both invtweaks and foamfix. The prior is pretty much a staple mod, and I feel odd without it. I'm not able to do what I usually do in my inventory in literally every other pack. Foamfix will help reduce memory usage by a not insignificant percentage, perhaps helping those with lower end systems. Please, do NOT add flat colored blocks! Even toned down the number of blocks it adds makes it a memory hog, and 1.10 in of itself already makes modpacks a difficult landscape to navigate with lower end systems, 1.10 really raises the bar on what systems can run packs as it is and FCB adds ~300mb+ to the memory requirements alone. It may look nice, and have lots of opportunities, but is very resource intensive. As far as optifine, I would almost say go with fastcraft instead. Unless you are using shaders there is no real benefit to use optifine over fastcraft, and from what I have seen fastcraft is less likely to cause issues. But as usual I would leave these as optional dependencies of the pack.
Those 3 magic mods are not available for 1.10 yet. Besides, Twilight Forest is unlikely to be added because its items are way too powerful for how easy it is to obtain them. Also, the forest is a dimension; more dimensions = lower server performance. With the server being as laggy as it is right now there's not a chance that the mod will be added. We don't have the Corrupted Sector because we already have the Deep Dark. The portal is dirt cheap (well, cobblestone cheap) and there's more ore than in the overworld, but in return there are stronger mobs that spawn at any light level, and staying in darkness for too long will kill you. Edit: As for quarries, the ExU Quantum Quarry mines in a dimension that is never actually loaded and cannot be entered, so it doesn't affect server performance as badly as other quarries. I second AppleCore, would be nice to have. And InvTweaks is much better than the simple inventory sorting mod we have right now. Also, do we have MouseTweaks? I forget, but if we don't, that would be a nice thing to have as well. But I don't think we need Veinminer or Treecapitator. We have Tinkers' Construct with its hammers and lumber axes, and the Draconic Evolution pickaxes for even faster mining than hammers. And I think it's good if you have to work a bit and spend some materials for better mining capabilities.
Maybe we could have patches of Twilight Forest generate on the current map as it used to be 1 or 2 maps ago? I'm sorry you view it as an unwanted addition, I really like the trees and fireflies(?) from it (And possibly other items I don't recall right now.)
