I like some of the new mods being implemented but there are still some mods that I'd like to see return. •Applied Energetics 2 •Tainted Magic •Advanced Generators •Big Reactors •Forbidden Magic •Thermal Expansion And there might be more but those are some mods just off the top of my head that I personally would like to see if this was moved to 1.8
Trust me they are not out of our lives, not by a long shot, just waiting for an update to occur for them

Im in no way trying to speak for the dev/mpt but I believe there were certain reasons enderio and bc weren't in 1.7.10 but I'm not sure. Also I like your mod choices
I like the list, but would definitely like to see AE2, Advanced Generators and Big Reactors, once they are updated to 1.8. AE makes life so much easier.
Bear in mind this is still all highly up in the air - we haven't got any dates pinned down, and we're not working on the modpack yet. Don't get your hopes up too much yet, we'll be announcing more details when we have them (probably a while into the future)
some other mods i have seen that might be interesting to have - The Camping Mod - might be a good starter mod - mob amputation mod - torched mod -redstone paste mod - redstone on walls etc - minions mod -vintage craft - changes biome generation - looks cool -multimine mod - saves block damage when mining -tree ores mod -storage drawers mod listed above - biome o plenty -rougelike dungeons -chisel and bits listed above these are 1.8 and while might not all work - look interesting and u should check the out to see if you want to include them also the ring 0 experience is useful when fortune mining
Can we slim the pack down a wee bit this time? I haven't been able to play at all due to the size of the current pack, old packs never gave me an issue either... I really want to get back to playing on SKCraft!

would immersive engineering be able to be added? don't know much about mod packs but IE has that realistic looking tech. if not, it's cool! can't wait for this server rendition to be up. this community is p.cool. Spoiler skyblock is hard
