What do you guys think? Anybody interested?

Basically we would set aside a weekend that works for all of us, and make a game based on a theme we vote on, either alone or in a team. The next weekend (Or whatever time we can all get on skype) we would explain our game and give a demo or something.

    48 hours. Anyone?

EDIT: You only need to be able to do basic programming, none of us make games for a living (I don't think).

EDIT 2: Thanks Tonius for your inspirational change to my poll. :p

I don't think we have that many programming players to be honest.

Free engines for noobs and pros. Guys just try something. If you have never programmed before try them in the order of Scratch, Construct 2, Gamemaker, Unity. The first 3 are complete drag and drop, with scratch being super noob friendly.

Just because you are a noob is not bad at all. All you need is experience.

Noob(Unity is still noob friendlish) and Pro(*) friendly engines:
    • Unity(3D)*
    • Unreal Engine(3D)*
    • Cry Engine(3D)*
    • Construct 2
    • Game Salad
    • Game Maker
    • Scratch
    *Allows native programming

Game libraries (Drawing mostly, engine needs to be made, all 2D/3D*), for the programmer programmers:
    • Java - Lwjgl
    • Java - Slick2D
    • Java - libgdx
    • Python - Pygame 2D only
    • Python - OpenGL things
    • Javascript - Infinite amount of libraries
    • C++ - Stuff, dunno use c++ that much but they exist.

    (Personally I prefer writing code)

If this could be used to teach people coding (like me) then that would be awesome. I would like to try Unity and Python.

html is not a programming language. It is a markup language. There isn't any logic with html :p

Unless you put JavaScript in it. But that's a whole other language, so I guess that doesn't count.

Though I'm coding a large project right now, I may do this. Also, is it just me, or does typing-things-out programming feel so much easier than drag-and-drop programming?

Much as I'd love to, not sure I could do the whole 48 hours... However there's probably something I could do. If you designed multiplayer into the game, I'd host the server, but I have u verse, so it would be a pin to port forward. I could post to reddit about this though.

I never made a game and I can't really program anything either, so it's probably not the best idea to count me in

Ehh scratch, I hated using scratch, I much preferred using game maker when i started learning how to program and it has its own language that you can slowly move on to learning instead of drag and drop, and afaik scratch doesnt have that.
