    A client update was pushed.
    • Added our hacked together support for Java 8 with FML so you can now use Java 8 with the modpack.
    • Disabled VSync by default (only affects new players).
    • Added stern warnings about installing JourneyMap and shaders.
A server update was also pushed.
    • Fixed the friends list.
    • Disabled achievements in chat.
    • Reduced slot limit so the player list is readable again.

Shaders certainly are, not sure about Journey Map, although IIRC it really eats ram.

Disabling VSync FTW, if you haven't already disabled it - do it and stahp limiting yerself to only 60 FPS. Anyway, even if it is on, it won't prevent you from getting lag spikes or anything of that sort.

Wat. Your refresh rate is what limits your frame rate after a certain point. Most monitors don't go over 60 anyways.

Well with VSync, you're wavering between 50-60 frames being refreshed...without it you're actually rendering over 60 (if you can) and fully utilizing the 60 Hz refresh rate of your monitor.

I'm aware. I have V-Sync on for some games because if I don't my cards hate me and get ridiculously hot, and in some cases there is a performance gain.
