Ok ill get a better power supply and queshtion. What happens to windows 8 when 9 comes out? Does the price go down or do they stop selling? And i havent been reading on my microsoft stuff whats gonna ve different in windows 9?
Holy sheeet never knew monitors were that expensive always thought they were like optical drives 20 bux. Just gonna bust one off an old pc we have and use that for the time being. Also for the mobo do you think the micro atx is better or just the regular atx type?
My motherboard just died on my today. RIP. But I ordered a new one: MSI x99S SLI, with i7-5820k since my old processor has the old 1156 socket. Also got with it 8 GB of ddr4 ram. Let's see how good it is
So.. I guess I should share a bit of my experience as well. I built my desktop in the Sandy Bridge days (1155 socket), and.. Now i know I cannot upgrade my processor without upgrading my mobo too . I recently chose for an NVidia GTX 750ti over my amd radeon hd 6700, just for my NVidia shield portable. Love NVidia so far, between them as a company and products. I have mixed feeling about Intel, as for recently, they have been doing a lot better in the CPU department, but the working conditions for the manufacturing of those CPU's are terrible. Again, I do not know if AMD is the same way, but fabricating CPU's sucks. For case's, if the one you got has USB 3.0, and all the features you could care about, it'll last you ~10 years. For the optical drive you were talking about, check to see if the one you have is SATA or IDE, if it's IDE, you need to throw it away (useless). For the power supply, I actually have a 430W I can give you. It's a Rosewill RG430-2. (email me if you want it at tommy@tommydrum.net ). The list you had made up does look pretty good! P.S. Don't forget the standoffs from your mobo to case, like I did on my first build..........
My old motherboard was a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3, it was one that had the same socket as my processor so I just winged it. Not for sale anymore in the bigger stores so don't worry
Looks good. Although with the 900 nvidia series coming out you may be able to get the 700 series for a steal.
Want a good processor? http://techoftomorrow.invisionzone....-the-18-core-processor-intel-xeon-e5-2699-v3/ There you go! Also, had some problems with the mobo and ram, but now it's alright and I am happy with it so far!
