It seems to me I have even less lag than before. Might just be imagination though since literally all servers I've been on while I wasn't here were worse. Community-wise as well. I mean, right now there isn't much of a community, but come 1.7 we'll see them all come back. People seem nicer here.
People are nicer here, most of them at least. Even if I'm not overjoyed at the removal of IC2 I'll probably still stick around because of the community here.
Yeah i dont really play on this server bc of the mods and the modpack i play on it because of all the people are very nice. And the server is just the right size that the chat isnt spammed constantly by 50 conversation and it bigger than just 2 at once (that recently has not become true bc all peeps are waiting for 1.7). All in all skcraft i think is the best multiplayer experience ive ever had in mc.
IC2 is dead. TE is much better, and we will have other mods like Mek and Professor Flaxbeard's Wonderous Steam Power! TE is a much more balanced mod than IC2 anyway.
I agree with you about the ores and machines. It's the lack of endgame stuff like that gravisuite and vajra that bothers me so much.
Yeah, me as well. I will miss IC2 greatly. IC2 exp is a whole different and badly-constructed thing, according to whoever controlled console like half an hour ago. Simpler != better. I want some complexity and progression. I want to think more than "how do I hide this conduit" when placing my cables. I want to have really fast and expensive power-hungry endgame machines. I blaze through TE's content in a day. IC2 keeps me occupied for more than a week. That's what I want, something to keep me busy while still being fun and not just awfully tedious. Well, maybe TE4 will make me happier... Maybe I should hurry and get IC2 power on current Alice, so I can bask in its glory one last time... and I should also get into Mekanism to see if it can help alleviate the pain of losing IC2... (probably won't mechanics-wise but the ore multiplying may be worth it anyway) Are you kidding? I won't do a whole new mod, especially one as expansive as TC/KAMI, just for a single tool. Also, I am a tech user, not a magician, and I want to do tech stuff before all else. My tools are those of electrical or redstone energy, not magic. Edit: As an alternative to Vajra, there's the Atomic Disassembler. Just as good as the AIP.
If all you want is progression and working through tech trees, you might want to reconsider why you are playing a sandbox. Specifically one that focuses on creativity and construction, where most mods surprisingly just happen to follow that theme...
Te is made for automation not progression. If you want a mod with progression choose thaumcraft even if it is magic life and even virtual life is full of sacrifices. But i too sorta wish that there was just something more to the te machines bc as of Te3 the pulverizer and furnace you connect to a steam dynamo and setup your first autoprocesing is the same pulverizer and furnace you use to make a mass glass factory the same speed and same power usage and same everything. But i guess thats changing in the 4 version with the augments and machine tiers and what not.
I will say I agree with Tonius here. If all you want is progression, difficulty, and tedium, go and play Terra Firma instead. Minecraft is not designed with tech trees in mind; it's a sandbox game, and that's why many mods stick to that, including TE. I suggested the Awakened Ichorium Pickaxe because it's an "end-game" item. If you're bored because IC2 isn't there then you're probably going to end up doing Thaumcraft anyway. Doing tech first isn't going to affect the end-game, because "end-game" is when you've finished everything else. Not that Minecraft is meant to have an "end-game" - it's a creative sandbox game, with infinite worlds, so there are always new things to explore, things to build, mobs to kill.
