Hi, every so often i crash and its written "Connection lost: Internal Exception: Java.io.IOException: Existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host." This started yesterday and its quite annoying since i dc nearly every 1-5 min. I have now 123 ms, but before i had 36ms but still that shouldn't dc me all the time since my friend has also 123 ms and doesn't dc and he lives close to me. I don't have problems with my own internet. Is this caused by the new server which is still unstable or something else?
I run a private server on the same box as alice & vincent. I haven't experienced these connection issues, where are you located geographically?
So you're European like me and Machir who have been playing just fine. I would check your connection to make sure you aren't dropping any packets. Luckily I am pretty good at geography so I know where Slovenia is!
I might solved the problem since i didn't dc for more than an hour now. Firstly i reseted my modem and i changed the server address to vincent.skcraft.com, since i used the old address before, vincent.sk89q.com
new address bettar I think SK should set up a mirror in Germany the same way he set up a mirror in NY. This might help a bit with the connection issues.
But the connection for europe to the server now is 100x better than west coast USA was to europe. Which is why he did it!
It is true, for me too mobs hit me while i've hit them like 10 times before it counts as a hit, but there isnt as much lagg as before the server switch
We are more likely to start experiencing a little worse but we need to compromise with the american player base. We have had the server on our doorstep for a few years now. American players get around 50+ and europe seems to be around 90+ Where as the Germany location that we used I got around 30ms and the US players much more. We are experiencing a taste of what the Americans have put up with. Although I will talk to sk about a possible mirror location.
I've been on Alice not long ago, just to see what's up and such, and I didn't notice a lot of lag, honestly nothing noticable. But we were only 2 on the server aswell.
Luckily I have fast internet, so I don't experience many client desyncing problems, but my ping is around 100ms.
