Alice 1.7-Automated mining?

    Seeing as how the modpack planning has begun for Alice 1.7, I want to know whether or not the restrictions on automated mining and resource collection (Bees), will still be around in 1.7. It would help to see the community's opinion on this as it would help with choosing the direction the modpack should take and which mods should be included.

    I don't think it'll be wise to say one way or another just yet, but I do agree some community conclusion can be reached regarding those two subjects. Just know that the matter is still under discussion.

    They will probably be enabled since RotaryCraft and friends are probably not coming back.

    Maybe we should make it so that you can only use Ender Quarries to auto-mine so that almost no one falls into the big pit of doom and there's less lag when compared to Buildcraft ones.

    BuildCraft quarries probably still won't be enabled to prevent lag. As you said, Ender Quarries do the same job, yet better.

    I find that having no auto mining brings more people together to form teams. I also think that finding resources and cave mining is particularly fun. Although it has been said those that do not have much time to spend on minecraft find it hard to progress because they are always hunting for stuff rather than making new tech. So I guess it depends on what we focus on the regulars or the not so regulars.

    I would say maybe find some decent auto-mining mods that can't be used as grief tools nor cause too much lag. Ender Quarries seem to be a good bet but it might be possible to surround someone's claim with fences and ender quarry their house (which would not be good). If we see the return of the mining world this won't be a problem.

    I dont Really Care if the Quarries are Disabled as long as The laser Drill isnt and hopefully turtles arent as well cause they are pretty fun

    Moving turtles get disabled because they can be used to forgreifing

    Will the Deep Dark be still enabled if we have Ender Quarries? That would be fun/op.

    I think the Deep Dark will stay enabled, but autominers won't be enabled in it. Back when we had quarries in 1.5, they were only enabled in the mining world.

    Well, Toni confirmed that auto-mining will be in 1.7 and also there's a special world meant for abuse in the pack too.

    I remember seeing that the robots in the new computer mod (OC) have claim respecting support. Like they show up as <owner>.robot and they will fail when trying to move into a claim the owner is not a part of.
    Not sure if it works with what we have on SKCraft, but I know there's some form of this.

    Off topic, I really do hope something is set up for the HTTP/UDP API in OC. I can think of quite a few uses for the powerful HTTP socket support.

    Anyway, as long as we have ender quarries and laser drills enabled, I'll be happy :p

    I've started having ideas for the HTTP socket support as well. Open Computers is pretty awesome.

    Sorta off topic but will autospawners be enabled? And why were they disabled in the first place? Same reason as quarrys? I like them for a goo addition for ones base like you have to make a contraption for collecting mobessence and then an actual spawing room(s) if they are im prob gonna do what direwolf20 was doing in his lp world with computer craft. Anyways i hope they are enabled in 1.7 i would really like to have them

    Yes, they will be enabled. However, the inventory carrying mobs will be disabled for the auto-spawner (i. e. donkeys, luggage)
