Since alice 1.7 is presumably coming soon. i thought I would Write A few Starting tips for fast progression and Fighting Hunger.
    • My first goal I set myself is get a TE pulverizer The machine Doubles your ores
    • but it Requires a bunch of ores so you should go mining as soon as possible
    • but before you go mining you need a Good Source of food Try mining Apatite it Can be made into Fertilizer Combined with some sand
    • Also another Great Way to get food is Use drying Racks and put Rotten flesh on to them. they will Turn into Monster Jerky. Yum!
    • So When you Eventually Get a pulverizer You have to power it. My Reccomendation is the Mekanism Heat Generator Easy To Craft Runs off of Furnace Fuel and Can be Even more Efficient when placed near Lava.
    • Read The Book Materials And You. you should Craft all the utilitie Blocks it has to show
    • While Your Doing all the Stuff above Casually collect Gravel Sand And clay. They are Used to make Grout which Can be smelted into Seared Bricks
    • Using the Seared Bricks You can make a Smeltery. Whichb is How you
Make Tinker tool With metal. Again Read The Book Mighty Smelting And Try making Tools Out of Alumite. Dat Stuff Good.
Thats All The Early Game Tips I can think of! Hope it helps! Btw Sorry For all the bad grammar Spelling And punctuation.

note... Typing Like This Makes it Hard To Read

Here are some of my tips... (mainly for after you have got going a bit)
    • Make an automatic potato farm as soon as possible. This will be especially true if chunk loaders are enabled. They can produce a LOT of potatoes, and you only really need a decent power source (extra utilities solar generator works great, if you have the diamonds) and a bit of rubber to get it started. If you have a Redstone Furnace, cook the potatos and turn them into French Fries. It's quite easy to get a stack of french fries, and this will keep you going for a few days.
    • Make a Mekanism Wind Turbine, as they are cheap, and use this to power an ME system. A single turbine will easily power a small ME.
    • Make an ardite pickaxe once you have the smeltery, and use this to gather cobalt and ardite. While you're in the nether, gather lots of quartz, too.
    • Apply Auto-Repair (Ball of Moss) to ALL of your Tinker's Construct tools! If you can't find mossy cobble, make a Fluid Transposer and transpose water into cobblestone.
    • Make a Manyullyn Cleaver, with a Manyullyn large sword blade, Obsidian large plate, Paper top tough rod and Obsidian bottom tough rod. Add the Auto-Repair and lots of quartz. You now have a weapon that one-shots most mobs.
    • Make a Portable Tank, grab a bucket and head to the nether. Fill up the portable tank with lava and shift-wrench it to pick it up. Back home, use this to feed your smeltery tank (you can use a Fluiduct if you want)

I usually use a drum because it stores more than a portable tank and can be broken with picks.

Portable tanks are cheaper though, so for earlygame it's better.
