So we all know that redpower 2 hasn't been updated since 1.4.7. Eloraam decided not to continue developing the mod. Since then Project Red has come the closest in a mod that "feels" like redpower 2. I am interested in attempting to port it to a new version of minecraft. She said with her license that nobody is allowed to decompile the code. Seeing as her twitter account and blog hasn't been updated in a very long time I am considering trying to port redpower 2. If I were to do this and she asked me to take it down, I would do so immediately. I would also spam every where that redpower 2 is hers, so I take no credit. Does anyone think this is a good idea? If so what version of minecraft?
I'll be absolutely honest, my answer would be no. Not only is it against the will of Eloraam, it's also very time consuming. RP2 had its time to shine before Eloraam disappeared off the face of Earth, but I believe we should simply stick to ProjectRed.
I would be willing to spend the time. The pipe/tube item transfer is still very unique. Even TE conduits don't quite match redpower's.
RedPower is dead in the water, lets move on, no point beating our self's up. She won't update it and won't allow anyone else to update it, its clear she doesn't give a hoot about anything. So stick with ProjectRed, its powerful and much better than RP.
Alot is better than you at everything! Nah jk. It was a good mod, but its dead now, your girlfriend turns into a zombie so you keep on loving her? No you shoot that ***** in the head she's dead now and gone.
ProjectRed is open source, you could just decompile RedPower2 and rip off the pipe code write in the code for a RP2-esque tube system.
Behold! My port is complete! Okay, not really, I haven't ported it at all. I just wrote a flax mod :I It's a start, right?! Step two: Indigo flowers http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/2730584-17210-flax/#entry31970681 mcf thread
I don't know, I don't use redstone flux. It's just a crop mod. I'd like to add, separately, eloraam has no legal claim over her mod because of the Mojang EULA.
