I run my machines off a passive BR reactor, however I use an active one for uum generation, where the turbine is always running, and I shut off the steam reactor a few minutes before I need it to stop (as it continues to produce steam for a bit). As for the elite factory/reactor thing, I just didn't want to sink resources into making more machines to get me building blocks that before I had for free. Thanks for the offer though.
For everyone asking about how to make obsidian, I have two ways that are easy. 1. Tcon, flip a drain backwards and hook up a liquiduct to it, waster and lava combined in it make obsidian. Put a clock (the block redstone thing) on top of a drain above a casting basin, hopper and chest under the basin. You now have an automated obsidian factory. 2. Rotarycraft, It has an obsidian factory as well, but requires water, lava, and power as well.
