My game won't load work. I've updated Java and everything. This is the message I get # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x55fa88bb, pid=6652, tid=5376 # # JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (7.0_51-b13) (build 1.7.0_51-b13) # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (24.51-b03 mixed mode windows-x86 ) # Problematic frame: # C [atioglxx.dll+0xb588bb] # # Failed to write core dump. See if there is an update for your graphics card. The relevant thing to search here is "atioglxx.dll" which is some driver related to your ATI card.
Have you tried launching terminal and typing 'sudo purge'? Macs take a long time releasing memory, from what I understand it's just in case you might re open what you were doing. Purge clears all the held memory into 'free' memory. I don't have my mac anymore but I believe it's the Inactive value that purge will make free.
I have the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 and had it do a quick search for updates and it said there weren't any, could you provide a link for the atioglxx.dll driver? I'm worried i'll mess things up by downloading random things that i don't understand.
Well, I would not suggest updating the .dll file manually. That's probably not a good idea. Does regular Minecraft work for you, without mods? Edit: Also try updating Java. There's Java 8 now, which came out in the last week: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html
