YAY! SK FIXED IT! Well folks, it appears the server has suffered a significant crash. As of right now, nobody with console access is online to restart the server, so unfortunately we're going to be down until that changes. Hopefully it won't be too long!
Didn't we at one point in our history have a script that auto-restarted the server in circumstances such as this?
imo it'd just be nicer if there were a time sheet of when certain moderators with console access were supposed to check in and make sure the server was okay. I thought that was the point in having more than one moderator. I'm not saying that's how it should be either just an idea that would work better than a script that could take away 3+ hours of building and resource gathering through rollbacks.
Last there was discussion of someone writing a script for automated restarts 9/10 mods said they would vote no right off that bat for that issue.
We don't really have a auto-restart system because the server usually goes on for many months with crashing, and I didn't want the server to do a dumb "restart immediately every time" in case it worsened any damage. However, this time, we've added a lot of new mods and they appear to be fairly unstable. I'll see what can be done.
We should do "Twitch plays SSH"! That is a joke though mabye vote some players to be allowed to have temp. access to a few commands(Read the crash log, restart the server, etc)? For example I have linux and crash log experience.
