Do you like the idea of lengthening the required consecutive letters to 'mention a player in chat?

    One problem, there are people who are called to in chat using three letters only. Dem comes to mind.

    You can just do /highlight <name1> <name2> <name3> and not include the word "the" in any of those names.

    That would probably work perfectly. But that requires knowledge of the commands... and where would regular players go to find that information?

    • Set the list of prefixes that people can mention you by: /highlight prefix1 prefix2 prefix3
      • This removes all previously-set prefixes
      • When your name is mentioned by someone in chat, you will hear a 'ding' sound
      • Turn off dings where someone mentions your name: /toggledings
    It's more known by most people on the server, but it's not really on the forums anywhere. I found this on the new wiki, but it isn't really aren't open to everyone to view at the moment, as far as I know.

    Alright, so I can adjust the chat highlighting to my needs.
    Is there a way to do this with dings as well?

    /highlight handles dings.

    If I'm not mistaken, chat highlights cause the dings. If you edit when your name is highlighted, the dings should change accordingly.

    What Mccallister said is correct. Dings are related to the highlighting.

    Ah, changing highlights, nice! We are atleast 3 people who have the word "Lord" in his name, so this is nice to know.

    Heh, I've got it set to ping on "redstone" too but people need to say LordL or LordX etc. :p

    Devan I know, I just felt like overemphasizing the counter argument to his suggestion. I tend to do so, to bring out real arguments towards the point being made.

    so

    should work.
