Trying to run the launcher and starting up a singleplayer world to test how it works on my laptop. Currently running at 1-2 fps both in the singleplayer world and on the server. Running with 2GB RAM at maximum size (which isn't completly used). Also using Razor game booster. My laptop: Windows 8 - 64bit Intel core I3 M370 duo core 2.40 GHz. (Using 30-40% of the processor when looking in task manager.) 4 GB RAM installed, 3.8 GB usable. Java 64-bit I have a desktop gaming PC which I normally use but it would be nice to play on my laptop when I'm away. I tried setting renderdistance to the lowest possible and graphics to fast. The funny thing is when I press escape and get up the menu it shoots up to 70-80 fps. Any suggestions or anything that might help me?
Does this laptop have a dedicated graphics processor? Or is it operating on the built in Intel hd graphics?
Pathalon: Intel HD graphics. sk89q: 60-70 fps at the same settings Also, when I tried running it with optifine installed it says that it uses like 98% of something on "ticks." Might be a hint.
Optifine was highly incompatible with the first iteration of the Alice Modpack, and I would think it would be the same with the current iteration. It's advised that you refrain from using optifine in 1.6 altogether, since changes in forge and Minecraft itself resulted in it doing more harm then good on most PCs now :/
put 0 (zero) instead of any value for the maximum size. And what version of java ? 7 update 25 ? 7 update 45 ? ...
The zero didn't help much. I'm using java 7 update 51, had problems starting the game first because I had 32-bit installed. Changed it to 64-bit. (java) Uploaded a screenshot of the debugscreen. If it's any help. Spoiler
Multiplayer ChunkCache: 441 ??? Alice should be 121 , so i guess it's a singleplay screenie. Well, what about not playing fullscreen and reducing "render distance" (in video option) to "close" ? (ok that isnt a solution) in fact, imho, fully deleting minecraft/skcraft folder and reinstalling it fresh new could be a good start, and then looking for other programs like antivirus or stupid-microsoft-feature that couldve been installed recently is be the next move.
Have any of you tried to increase Permgen? Permgen can be increased by going into Launcher Options in the launcher (it should be one of the first things that pops up). If it's set to like 128, try increasing it to 256.
I will try increasing Permgen first thing tomorrow, for now I will use my desktop pc Edit: Tried to set Permgen at 256, 512 and even 1024 MB, no differences... Are there any client-side mods that can impact heavily on the performance that I might try to disable?
So... I've been scrolling through the Messages and Errors log. 99% or maybe even a 100% of the mods give a warning saying they lack a file called "pack.mcmeta". Is it only me or does that happen to others aswell? http://pastebin.com/6CTVdSiL Also, tons of textures missing: http://pastebin.com/A7uTenkQ A few mods: http://pastebin.com/GndmwbR4 and more: http://pastebin.com/6CTVdSiL Even more missing textures after that, same kind of warning as previously. Might be normal, might not be. But please check it out.
Most of the errors are normal. I am unsure if the errors in the fourth link are supposed to happen, however. I am not sure what you can do. Does it lag even with a super flat world?
2 pictures while standing still. The first one is ingame, the second one is at the exact same spot 10 sec later with the menu open. This is some strange stuff... Also, main menu has the same fps as ingame for some reason.
One thing that you could do is run a Java profiler on the game, which I can instruct you on how to do, but you need to download the JDK (Java Development Kit).
