I need to ask, do you guys do any sort of testing prior to pushing these updates? I'm a little peeved, but I am drowning in NUGGETS. I don't even know where they are coming from! A process that would normally yeild uranium ingots (Pulverize Uranium ore -> Smelt -> Ingot!) yeilded 3.4k uranium NUGGETS. My setup that I have used for a while to make bronze, tin and copper ingots into an Induction Smelter yeilds bronze nuggets. Normally updates don't change anything notworthy, but this is not the only example of earth-shattering alterations. ~_~
I've found a few things that are rather... irritating: 1. Rubber processed with the new system unifies into a different kind of rubber 2. NEI Recipes for transformers are broken Also, this might be intentional, but Imprinting 1 Bee with the imprinter takes 12.500.000 RF now.
Kira: Sorry for not noticing that. Yes, we do test mods regularly, but this time around, GregTech added several hundreds of new material items. All of those materials have about 20 automatically generated recipes in different machines associated with them. You can probably understand that we are firstly not omniscient, and secondly, can't go checking each and every one of those recipes that are possible with those items. Or every single recipe that might have been broken by Greg's tendency to 'balance' out recipes ten times a week. About the quartz thing you mentioned in the other thread: we will check if the GregTech configs allow us to change this, and otherwise we will probably just add a recipes to convert quartz plates into normal quartz. Wolf: What kind of rubber does it unify into? Does it break any recipes, or is it just another item that can do exactly the same things as before? I'm pretty sure the imprinter wasn't set to use THAT much power. I'll go check that out.
It now unifies into the MFR Rubber Bars. Its usable to all recipes that normal rubber is. Apart from that, its annoying for AE systems. I imprinted 8 Bees (4 Princesses and 4 Drones) 2x each, (8 Imprints total) and it drained 4 Resonant Energy Cells completly. Also 2 of them turned into Genetic Waste (all Pristine stock ofc)
Could the power consumption be a byproduct of the balancing? Personally I'm all for changing the power costs to balance it. But it does hit a pet peeve of mine when the changes make it damn-near impossible to keep the machines full of power when working. Apart from what wolf mentioned, I put some drones into the Genetic Sampler and went off to do some other things; Low and behold, because I was not aware of the changes and I came back to the sampler out of energy AND 8 resonant energy cells fully depleted.
I logged into the server and my entire EnderIO capacitor multiblock was empty from just FILLING the damn machines. Which in turn massacred my supply of wood since all the engines kicked in to try and fill it. Normally that wouldn't have been a problem but I was working on my entire setup and had messed with some things, not expecting to have my entire system drained in a few seconds. Any idea when this is going to be hotfixed?
What I have gathered from path in teamspeak. The config has already been tweaked, and we just have to wait for it to be pushed. Mind you, don't quote me on that since it was a clusterfuck when he was explaining the situation.
Mkay, nevermind the nuggets thing. I have had an opportunity to sit down and examine in detail. Not an issue. Gregtech taking over all things Certus is an issue though. It takes over the Certus comb, which now produces Gregtech Certus dust, and squishing Certus Ore produces Gregtech Certus. Tedious, since you now need to allocate space in a system to unify those to AE Certus. The only big issue here is there is no longer a way to get Certus Crystal from Certus Dust.
If algorithm doesnt do anything about gregtech we will have to modify every recipe ourselves to support the change. It appears that AE doesn't use ore dictionary for crafting recipes. As far as the hotfix goes I will try my best to get it out tonight!
