It'll start launching and go through everything and gives me 'process ended with code: 137' I'm quite sad. For the full log: http://pastebin.com/7pQhh69L Any help would be greatly appreciated. [Edit] Forgot to mention I'm running ubuntu 12.04 lts, if that makes a difference. I'm wondering if encrypting the computer might be the problem, as that is the only change I have made to the computer.
Are you seeing it freeze and killing it by chance? Also, it shows you're using OpenJDK which isn't always MC friendly. Try switching to the Oracle JDK.
I haven't had an issue with OpenJDK so far, but I'll check out Oracle and see if that helps. It doesn't freeze at all. It just runs through everything and at any given point just gives me that code 137. Then it restarts the launcher. My internet also crashes when it does that. Still confused on that bit.
I've heard reports of the server not performing so well on OpenJDK, though I don't know if that ever applied to the client.
I've noticed a greater instability while running on linux and it could be due to OpenJDK. The client has crashed more regularly since I switched over. I'll try out Oracle and see if it runs better. I can get back to you on that matter if you'd like, for future reference to any potential issues. [Edit] Apparently it is not in the software center. I'm guessing I download it straight from the java/oracle website. More confused by the versions listed than anything as I'm still becoming more familiar with ubuntu.
The issues with OpenJDK that apply to servers also apply to the client from what I read a while back. Try the guide here (it's for Ubuntu 12.04, but should still apply for 13.x) http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/1414
I've got it starting up and running right now. Just waiting on some updates with the launcher. Then I'll see if it works this time around. I'll also get openjdk again and see if it works now that I've removed the encryption from the home folder just to see if that was the issue I was having initially. We shall see.
It fully loaded this time around so I'm guessing I should be able to log into the server now. Thanks for the help. I'll check on openJDK and see if the encryption is what was limiting it. I'll also see if it performs any better between OpenJDK and Oracle.
