Okay, here comes the angry "YOU CAN GET >9000 EU BECAUSE THEY DON'T ASPLODE" Simple solution: Custom recipes. First of all, removing reactor chambers from the recipe, and replacing them with advanced machine blocks and leaving chambers uncraftable means that the nuker will only hold 3 rows maximum. Then, change the recipes of the cells to be something like this: Single Uranium Cells: 1/8 durability: Normal Recipe 1/4 durability: Normal Recipe, but with 1 10k coolant cell. 1/2 durability: Double Uranium, and 1 30k coolant cell. 1/1 durability: Double Uranium, and 2 30k coolant cells. Dual Uranium Cells: 1/8 durability: Normal Recipe (but accepts damaged cells), with 30k coolant cell. 1/4 durability: Normal Recipe (but accepts damaged cells), with 60k coolant cell. 1/2 durability: Normal Recipe (only accepts full durability), with a 60k coolant cell. 1/1 durability: Normal Recipe (only accepts full durability), with a 60k coolant cell and 2 overclocked heat sinks. Quad Uranium Cells: 1/8 durability: Normal Recipe (but accepts damaged cells), with 2 60k coolant cells. 1/2 durability: Quad Uranium Cell (but accepts damaged cells), surrounded by 2 60k coolant cells, 2 overclocked heat sinks, and 4 steel (stainless steel for added difficulty).
Has nothing to do with the recipes, the machines simply don't work once crafted. There's no explosion as there should be so you can make 50,000,000 EU/t from them just by filling it with fuel and nothing else and nothing bad at all would happen. Nukes could be used if people didn't exploit them, but we all know people are gonna exploit the instant they can, so till IC2 fixes reactors to work even close to properly they simply cannot be turned on with a live server.
kyla, which is why I said disable reactor chambers. Perhaps making only 1/8 normal cells craftable is good enough? Assuming you only fill 3 columns with single uranium cells that are at 1/8 duro, which produces 72,000,000/8 EU. Perhaps it could be nerfed more to 1/16. (there's also a reason why I added coolants to the recipes of each and every cell)
We will re-enable nuclear reactors when the bugs that are currently plaguing them are fixed. Right now, a nuker does you no good what-so-ever because when you put power in, and turn the lever on, it does nothing but sit there and take up space. Nukers generate no power what so ever. They are completely and utterly broken. Prior to the reactors breaking, there was an exploit allowing power generation in excess of 500,000,000 EU/t which is one reason we were going to disable them until that was fixed. But right now, NUCLEAR REACTORS DO NOT WORK AT ALL, and it is OUT OF OUR CONTROL. Rest assured though, WE WILL ENABLE THEM WHEN THEY ARE FIXED BY THE DEVELOPERS OF IC2.
