Today I was breeding trees, and one of the subfamilies I made that day was Teak + Myrtle Ebony, which can make Brazilwood, Old Fustic, and Rosewood. Normally when I make a new species, I grow a pure strain and use a grafter on its leaves to make about a stack of saplings for stock in case I need it later. Afterward, I use my Axe of the Stream to cut down the trunk. I noticed a strange glitch, however, when I tried to cut down the trunks of the above 3 trees. the axe would cut the trunk, but no log blocks would manifest, the tree would just dissolve essentially. I could use normal axes, and they would also cut the trunk, but they would give log blocks. These are the first trees to which the Axe of the Stream has shown this glitch before. The AotS has worked fine on plenty of other bred trees until now, so I just think this subfamily of trees is glitched.
The lumber axe from Tinkers Construct might work, and is a lot quicker than the Axe of the Stream. If I remember correctly, Axe of the Stream can cause server side lag, but I might be wrong there.
Like I said, other axes work fine, and produce log blocks, I just like the AotS because I can just stand there and chop away at the same block and have all the logs come to me.
Did you ever try the lumber axe? You break one block and the whole tree is chopped down immediately. Nothing is faster than insta-breaking everything. Also, it's cheaper to make than an Axe of the Stream, depending on your chosen materials. You can make it electric or self-repairing too. If this tree family is glitchy (or the axe is glitchy with them) you should try alternatives. This is probably the best one.
