The issue with Equivalent Exchange is that if you play the game and use that route, it makes IndustrialCraft2 and BuildCraft fairly obsolete. In an effort to balance out things, the following changes have been made: Only the following items have EMC now (though some listed below may have none, in which case you should report the issue): Lava blocks Gold Iron Diamonds Gold blocks Iron blocks Diamond blocks Redstone Bricks Mossy stone Mycelium Lily pads Diamonds Lava buckets Ghast tears Blaze rods Blaze powder Magma cream Coal Log Gunpowder At the moment, you cannot transmute to redstone or gunpowder. The Gem of Eternal Density is disabled temporarily. If you would like to request an item to have an EMC value, please do so.
I can see how this balancing act should work, however (not saying I disagree with your decision) transmutation is meant to: 1. Dispose of useless items (although I can respect nerfing this since IC2 has recycling already) 2. Help you when you run out of something simple (e.g. Gravel) 3. Remove Tediousness in gathering certain items (e.g. converting valuable items into large amounts of cobble And I feel that the nerf has made EE somewhat redundant now excluding the AWESOME power toys. I can certainly understand where you are coming from though, but I have seen EE work together with BC and IC2 (take Direwolf20 for example). /endrant Sorry if that sounded to be condescending/whingy, just wanted to voice my thoughts. But I do agree that EE is Overpowered/Potential for Abuse in SMP.
If i understand this right, you can still transmute to simple items, you just have to offer something more valuable. Disposing useless items can be done with a recycler, as you said. I like the changes, it makes sure that you can't get away without using IC2 and BC. Good job, Sk.
As far as 'simple things' go, I find that's the position BC and IC2 had until EE came along. With EE unmodified, it seems as if EE is the answer for everything, not only simple things.
hmmm.... it would help to have every ore, like lapis, ruby, nikolite, and silver. medium and high covalence dusts would be nice. bring back leather, milk, pork for us vegans. emc tofu ftw! .. then again, railcraft adds that thing that automatically feeds animals so that might be op.
To be honest, I am not sure. I am pretty clueless about EE, and I'll have to spend some time sitting down today or tomorrow carefully looking through things.
Bricks don't seem to have an EMC value. I tried the single bricks and the brickblock. Nothing happened. (EDIT: with the Transmutation tablet.)
too bad no charcoal-its easy to make massive power plant using charcoal maker... meh it is expensive to use a filter, etc to do it but still free EU-pretty overpowered to me. ah wait-scrap is worth 870 EU but costs 32EU to make it etc
mossy stone bricks and the crippled stone bricks (which can only be found in 3 places in the world, i.e. strongholds) are rare. maybe an emc-worthy item?
I wonder if they should balance scrap and coal/charcoal mass-production? (charcoal is faster btw) well, i think both are pretty OP anyway but coal and charcoal is just silly-actually STICKS will work (not rlly they burn so fast its pointless)
I was thinking that they could add the other ingots such as copper tin silver bronze brass to the list of having emc cause for one silver doesnt have enough uses that i can think of and i would like to see lava cells have the same emc as lava buckets and and the things that madness to above me says along with bricks and does glowstone dust have emc value its not on the list
Tungsten, Nikkolite should be added (otherwise they have limited to no use). Also making Redstone and glowstone transmutable would help since requiring a collector to get large amounts takes too much time.
