    basicly, i have the latest version of the launcher and when i open it it works fine, but when i try to actually log in to the game it just logs in then the game doesn't appear. i have tried launching it with a friend's copy of the folders but the same happened.

    i have tried launching minecraft from the official launcher and it works fine.

    i'm using a laptop with win7 pro

    You are trying to allocate more memory to Java than you have available on your system. Lower the minimum and maximum memory to more reasonable values.

    it started at an inital of 124 and a max of 1024.
    i put them up to 256 and 2048

    scratch that, i installed java se 6 64 version and it worked...
