Yeah, that's not a hole. You're buried. *edit* Only thing I can suggest is that you give someone your coordinates and have them dig you out.
i found the problem your useing a mac.. xD sorry couldn't resist i mean toasters have there limits .... sorry about that serious now yeah there a real problem i almost fell in 1 on 2 seprate occasions there dangrous disconnecting for 5 -10 min somethimes fixs them sometimes stay away ! they eventually right themselves
I've had a few issues with spawning on Alice, when I first spawned, I didn't spawn at spawn. I also had a few times where I'd reconnect and end up being on the surface when I was down mining (common with lag). Chances are you had that happen to you, but you didn't quite make it to the surface and spawned in a block.
