http://www.computercraft.info/forums2/index.php?/topic/13063-mc-152-cc-153-openperipheral/ NOTE: This is a mod for Minecraft 1.5, so we can't have this yet. But I would still like to let you guys know about it. OpenPeripheral is a ComputerCraft addon that basically turns almost ANY block into a peripheral, so computers can read almost anything about any machine or other type of tile entity. It also adds a very cool item called the Terminal Glasses which allows you to draw things like information from a computer directly onto the screen. With the Terminal Glasses you can also send commands (events) to a computer without actually using the computer itself. Here's a video about the mod: TL;DR: read anything with computers + google glasses in minecraft.
Gawd I was hoping someone would suggest this! I don't see why not since this extends SK's work from Alice 1.2.5.
Since Tonius didn't get to this, I guess I'll ninja it. I see no reason not to add this for 1.5. I've seen it in action and it is definitely worth it to have it on the server when it updates. So I've added it to my 1.5 test-build and am testing it now. If all is well, you should see it in 1.5 alice, but no promises as things are prone to happen and change.
Get the latest 0.1.8 from the thread +A shiny new ticket machine for use with Railcraft Locomotives. From what I can gather, this machine can 'print' tickets for you using paper and ink sacs with the destination as well as the ticket issuer (to prevent/slow down forgery) imprinted on the ticket. You can use the ticket by putting it in a Locomotive and having it take you to the destination. +Peripheral Proxy which basically let's you connect wired modems to non-solid blocks and use them as remote peripherals +Player Inventory Manager similar to the one found in the Inventory Manager peripheral. Once you stand on it, items from your inventory are pumped out (items can also be pumped in) slowly. This addition isn't really useful since Inventory Manager can accomplish the same thing and more much faster. +Moar methods for moar mods! He still never added my request for the ChickenChunks Loader interaction
A look into the future: He also added ChickenChunks loader support (I think)! Try it out by deleting OpenPeripheral_methods.json in your config folder and letting it regen
