I would love to have this mod. Too bad it's a ModLoader mod though, and didn't work well with Forge last time I checked.
I've just been playing with Ugocraft in Forge. Most of it seems to work, but you can't make any modded blocks move with the mod. So it wouldn't be useful for machines, but still very very cool.
Watch the video, dude. It's bearly any lag from what I can tell since that was filmed on a server Oh, that really blows.
It doesn't matter whether it works with mod blocks (saves bugs & lag). Also, I'd like to point out that some spotlights (VoxelBox's) contain outdated information about bugs like insulator plate placement crashing everyone on the server but you.
That's not really a good statement since they probably had all members of that server in one spot and no other laggy machinery running. Which means, if we add this, there'll be 100% an addition to lag, since everybody uses it to their advantage (especially mining ... <.<.), and that extensively.
I don't think they will tbh. Since this mod only works with vanilla blocks (and that vanilla blocks are useless compared to the mods we have), people will use it for novelty and doors that open/close every few hours which isn't much harm done compared to the frames we have now. In my eyes, people will use Ugocraft like they use frames now (likely even less since no mod block) which isn't much considering frames can't be used for block breaker mining. The difference thou is that Ugocraft is much smoother and less laggy from what I can tell. Imagine the redstone circuitry needed to run a frame machine whereas it wouldn't take nearly as much for an Ugocraft counterpart.
