I decided that there should be an area to post picks or ideas of better looking and working devices for automating parts of a factory/shop on the Alice server. here is an auto COB maker I built for my Mid Ocean factory. 2012-02-13_18.56.50.png

or you can use sources and a block breaker... i use one for scrap :p
2 of them and you get waaaay too much cobble (only thing ive seen that can handle it is 10 recyclers)

same here, block breaker hooked to pneumatic pipes hooked to recycler.... also depends on the amount of scrap you're spending over time. for example, my biofuel-run mass fab is a bit slow, so i can only make like 5-7 UU a day

your setup can be improved by a simple cobble gen... or 2 with overclockers (12 makes it make scrap every tick just about) and hook that up to alot of HV solar arrays, maybe 25, and then you get chest upon chest of scrap :D ima try and make an MV panel as im using glass fibre cable but i need one silver...

problem is, i dont NEED chest upon chest of scrap, i'd rather hook those solar arrays to the mass fab lol...
also, what do u mean by overclocker and do u know how to post pics?

idk how to post pics and overclocker upgrade is for IC2 machines search it on the wiki also i have not tries it but others have when using both systems together (mass fab with endless scrap and stupid power)
also you need 512 panels for each HV panel... pricy

Well I now have ideas on how to make my factory that much better thanks to Dave and Weirdie and as far as I can see, using the Redpower pipes seems to be a better idea then IC2 pipes.

a;though for UU matter factory you need 12,500 solar panels...
yeah its rather stupid and alot of coal is needed... and by alot i mean ALOT
anyway it is super fast but too expensive for anyone

Has the Recipe for Redpower pipes changed or can we just not make the smart pipes at all?

Well I want to share some of my designs (well not mine, actually they're from youtube :p ):

cobblestone generator (fastest way to get cobble without needing a clock or something): [IMG]

When the cobble block appears the redstone current from the torch to the breaker is immediately broken leading to the execution of the block breaking step. In the middle you can connect a RP pipe to the system.

Snow Ball Creation (snow balls can be compressed to ice -> cooling CASUC reactors):

(put the timer to 400ms -> its the fastest possible way to get them)

Last but not least I want to show a cheap way to produce energy and a good way to use smaller quarry holes.. the Peat Factory Tower:

(the water streams are annoying on the picture, but they don't disturb the production and you can shut them down by placing a block below each water hole in the peat farm)

There's a gap of two layers between each peat bog . The peat tower fires itself with its own produced peat in a peat engine. The left RP pipe is for bog earth supply, the right one is for peat supply. The buildcraft pipes pull out the waste dirt from the bogs. Turbaries can harvest 1 block below and 9 blocks above themselves so you don't need to put one every layer (I operate the turbaries with two extra peat-engines).
If you want to use the ashe from the peat engine you have to connect a transposer and a buildcraft pipe to them (remember you can use RP cutting recipes to prevent pipes from connecting if they are near each other)

The dirt from the system is pulled to a bog earth factory:

I know you cannot see much, but it's working like this:
Dirt comes from the peat bogs and is stored in a chest near an automatic crafting table.
A cobblestone factory produced cobble which is macerated in an rotary macerator to sand. The sand is stored in a chest near the crafting table. A pump is used to fill a third chest with a bucket of water. The bog earth is then transported back to the peat tower. This system is operated by 2 generators which are running on peat from the towers. With the waste cobble+dirt (50% of the dirt coming from the peat tower is not used) you can produce scrap or run a humus production ...

In total you get loads of peat which can be used to operate generators ( every peat item produces 10k EU at 10 EU/t ) or buildcraft machines making this kind of energy very cheap (at least cheaper than HV arrays) and totally renewable.

    greets

Well I finished the factory just a bit ago and thought I would share the building and end results. 2012-02-15_22.19.23.png 2012-02-15_22.19.32.png 2012-02-15_22.19.44.png 2012-02-15_22.19.59.png 2012-02-15_22.20.07.png 2012-02-16_01.15.56.png 2012-02-16_01.16.03.png

nice- but that 2 lava 2 water design can only use one lava by spreading it around from a height. much more efficient for your lava :p... also how much cobble per sec does it create?
also nice factory but you need to distribute the items with chests as in 3 chests and the cobble goes into the chests then its pumped from the chests into the recyclers and therefor makes it more efficient with the recyclers. just thought you should know

Actually using redpower pipes the recyclers are full all the time and the pipes never leak and it makes about 10 scrap every 3-4 seconds and I already know how I can make it even faster but it already works well enough for what I need it to and in 13 hours it's made 5 diamonds and shit tone of things I can't normaly get. but the COB part of it makes 8 COB every 1.7 seconds since you wanted to know.

wow- but i can make 3 cobble at once... but one is inaccesible.
you just splot the lava flow so one lava can make some stupid amount of... umm cobble

I'm not very worried about it since nether is full of lava and it's only 8 lava that lasts for ever but I kinda see your point and I could make a COB factory based on your 2 lava 2 water setup and have it make 16 COB a second but thats way to much COB for most factories and wouldn't fit in my factory like my setup does so in the end it's more of a matter of space verses need on how you should set things up. But that aside I already know a MUCH better and faster way to make items for recyclers that takes about 1/8 the space of ether COB factories. ;)

i found how to make cobble gen without timer-its faster too :D (you just need redstone torch) you make the normal water going down into one block deep hole-here it should be 2 bloock deep-and lava going into it but where the cobble appears one block underneath put the torch and anything next to the cobble will activate-even a block breaker
so there is a better design and now im outdated with my timer system but i still gotta work out how to turn it on/off... oh wait just red cable up to block torch is on-easy!
