Because in most peoples eyes, gregtech is just that shitty mod that ruins everything. But mostly because the machines don't have much, if any documentation at all, so it's kinda hard to figure out what they do just from messing around with them.

GregTech adds tubes that transport item directly where they belong to? :p
RP2 is currently the only mod that I know, that adds a transportation system that has a some kind of path finding system or at least something like that, that's why I like to use it and it would be kinda sad without it. But stopping the entire update just for it is kinda... "meh" :I

No. But gregtech adds a sorter block, and "pipe" blocks you could say, to transport items call the electric buffers. Not as simple as rp2, but it works.

Not as simple and way more expensive :(
I used RP2 shortly after the beginning, but with GregTech it wouldn't be possible so early in the game. Well, we still have Buildcraft ^^

I have to agree, GT, although awesome, just plainly sucks since it is so expensive for really anything.

I have only a few GT machines and they have confused the hell out of me!

But GT does help balance the game by making it harder to get to end game so fast.

its a win/win/lose/lose if you see it that way. LOL

Gregtech uses power, and you don't have much control over them since it does most of everything by itself. Take for example the Translocator, all you do is set it down and let it go. You can't even give it a redstone signal to let it know when to pull/push items.
Buffers create a shit ton of lag when used as much as a tube. We had this in our last base for our cobblegen, remember?

ME, and with proper planing and forththought you don't need a large ME system to automate basic machines. As your power grows so should your ME network. Furthermore EU is not the only power source for ME. Add a system with routers and it becomes a lot less costly.

You can never control how much of something is being pulled or put into with ME without it being ass slow.

ME networks slow? I haven't noticed mine being slow. Does it depend on how much stuff you have attached, or power, or what?

I've only had my ME system run slow if I had more things going on then I could support with my given power supply. Or if TPS is low, and even then it's only the crafting terminal that's slow but when it comes to moving the items it's never had an issue.

I really don't want to lose RP2. I want to be able to run wires up walls, the pipes are faster, and I don't want to have to spend 2 diamonds for a BC sorting pipe.

    Plus, what about microblocks?

ah okay I see xCromyx. I have noticed the laggy crafting terminal, but I chalked it up to my internet, cause I get that in a diamond chest

It is slow to import/export items set to single. This is the only way I can see that you can control what goes in and out of an inventory without being a stack or 2 off. With RP2, all you need to do is set a filter to pull a specified item(s) and give it a redstone signal. All the control you need. Can't do this with ME.

Ah, yes I see. and yes it is slow but then again I don't use the single item option, but that's me and not others :p

I really haven't use RP2 much (that I know of), I've used some. I'm just not 100% sure what RP2 has, and I'm not to worried about it to go research it XD

MineFactory Reloaded rednet. Golden transport pipes. 2 diamonds give you 8 sorters. Immibis's Microblocks.

    'Nuff said.

you guys won't die from redpower withdrawal. and the plus side on that is that we will have an improved server - you don't want that?

Nu, don't change the world generator, all the blocks in the biome I live in will vanish. Unless it's not a change, but an addition of another worldgen?

Improved server? What do you mean?

Also: yes, no one dies when we lose RP2, but still it would be sad. Many things are easier and cheaper to make with RP2, also sometimes they are efficient too. RP Tubes, Sorter, Item Detector and some more machines are really neat, sure some of them can be replaced by AE, BC or GregTech, but those are a lot more expensive and harder to manage.

Madness is correct. I would rather have an improved server and more stuff to do.

With all honest, I'm quite bored of the server right now and I'm not even near end game. I'd like new biomes to explore. New mods to work with, even though I still haven't learned TC yet... but that's another story.

So quit your bitching and lets start back over as a whole new game and server. Don't save a bloody thing! It's for the best!!! yeah I'm going to be hated!
