http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic...ods-15-updates-are-here-rednet-logic-is-here/ Adds farming machines and CONVEYOR BELTS! Pipes are boring, conveyor belts are awesome! Safari nets [pokeballs]! And an alternative to barrels if we don't get factorization.
Assembly Line mod was just added to the server. Also, everything else in this mod seems to duplicate a lot of the other devices that are already available on the server.
I would definitely like someone to revisit this for being added if we update to 1.5.1. It adds a Programmable RedNet Controller that has lot of functionality that we would lose once we updated to 1.5 since we wouldn't have redpower, with also the use of only being 1 block, for compact(er) circuits.
I would vote for this mod just for the farming options. The current farming options on this server are in a very sad state. Examples: Old Forestry Farms - Deprecated Forestry Multi-farms - Non-renewable / Non-automatic Steves Carts Farms - The fairly expensive carts tend to disappear after 1 day. The assembly line mod is so iffy and weird that you can kinda stop considering it part of this server. Oh and we should add PowerConverters since we are adding PC Core anyways.
Forestry farms are both but they don't yield nearly as much crops as a steve's cart would that has a tendency to dissappear every week or so. We need to take screenshots of our cart everytime so the mods can refund it. If I were them, i'd just make a duplicator for our cart as they need to remake it everytime I'd also like to add that although MFR has a bunch of features that are already on the server, it just does it better. It's like AE vs. Logi.
Here's a list of things MFR can do. - Automatic farming of any crop that is properly done with Forge. Also automatic bonemealing. - Automatic animal breeding, adult-from-children-filtering, growing-up, milking, 'mushroom-souping', shearing, 'inking' and killing. Also, you can use Safari Nets to capture animals like using pokéballs. - Syringes that can instantly grow animals or heal them, cure villagers or grow slimes bigger. - Moving of spawners (using 4 gold, 2 diamonds and a nether star every time). - New liquids: Sewage, Liquid Meat and Sludge. Each with uses like making power, food or fertilizer. They are placable in the world too. (POOP LAKES) - Conveyor Belts and machines to put items on them, sort them or put them into inventories. - Sorting of items by type, but also by enchantment. There's also a machine that can sort liquids. - Automatic fishing. - A block breaker that automatically breaks when there is a block in front, no pulsing needed. - Fabricating lava or oil using lots of power. - Automatic enchanting, using mob essence (from a special machine) and a lot of power. - Un-enchanting of items. - Spawning mobs using mob essence, a safari net and a lot of power. - A storage unit that can store 2.000.000.000 items of the same type. - An automatic crafter that can refill buckets or cells used in recipes with liquids pumped into it. - A machine that turns any item into the first Ore Dictionary entry for that item. - A way to generate power from plants. - Stained glass and stained glass panes. - An automatic jukebox. - A way to duplicate music discs. - A type of Ice that doesn't melt. - A block that is slippery like Ice, but easier to get and looks more like a road. - Road lights which fit perfectly in roads. - New decorative bricks (very similar to Basalt and Marble). - Another way to craft Mossy Cobblestone. - A spyglass, which can read coords from blocks far away, and a ruler for reading distances. - A straw which you can use to drink liquids in the world (lelwat). - A programmable redstone network system, with an ingame manual included because it's so complex and versatile. It has logic too. I want it. I think that we should just remove RedPower2 and install this to make up for it. It can do so many cool things, and actually gets updated more often.
I as skeptical about this mod, but it is very impressive. It seems balanced (except for milking and spawners), and adds some much needed features, like world place-able liquids. The mod also has a rednet system that is still being developed, but could very well replace redpower.
Used this mod on a Tekkit server, it was pretty neat and fun to play with. Though I don't know what I'd think of adding power converters, seeing as we're thinking of this for a replacement to Redpower, you already can convert MJ to EU and vice versa, blutricity however is another story.
The current mod (Transformers) that we use is buggy as fuq and ugly as hell as outlined in my mod suggestion. PowerConverters is a much, much, much more eye-friendly and elegant of a solution.
I don't see how the milking (Rancher) wouldn't be balanced. The same can be achieved with a deployer set on a fast timer. The only difference is I can see is that this is a less laggy option.
