Getting started would be quite harder without the rp gems. Though i'm not even in end game i'm starting to get bored. I'd be fine with a reset.
Votes are needed, you need to be able to hear people out and opinions on things of this matter. Personally the game gets really stupid when people update and lose everything for every reset, and if the server did a recent reset and you want a reset for yourself, just abandon all your current things, and go off alone. As for me, I still am on the quest of all bees, and my thaumic tower, which if there is a reset, is no point on transfering over. I'd rather wait until 1.6 for a full server reset, because as I said earlier, 1.5 didn't add anything amazing or heavily game changing to warrant such a reset. I can understand some peoples wants of a reset, but the server is still just starting on certain things like the player bazaar and people doing huge projects. To me personally, it seems like only people who joined in the last 2 weeks are heavily gung-ho on a server reset.
you are one of the people who don't want the reset but if it dosent happen now then it will when redpower is updated either way you are going to lose your stuff so why not now
Because it hasn't even been half year since the 1.4.7 reset. And as sk has said previously, some people are in the middle of projects, so it would be a waste of time and effort to update now when there is no real need to.
I could say the same about you being for the reset. Only the nether needs a reset for 1.5, and if the world needs a reset, do the mining world instead. There is still a lot of open space and new areas left in the overworld as well, so there is no need for the overworld to be reset. As well, we all do lose things eventually, though I'd rather lose it later, when more people are really bored of the current and want to restart. Also any modded Minecraft, needs to sustain longer than when Mojang updates, and since they frequently update, it's kind of dumb to frequently reset the server.
Now you are speak my language i really want the restart and leaving the overworld as it is and resetting all the other ones would be good
So when you say reset the world... Are you talking about resetting the main build world? I.E. Have to start everything all over from scratch?
This is tough. I'm mixed on what I would like to see. On one hand the possibility of new/improved items, however on the other hand all inventory items, machines, etc would be lost...
I kind of don't want a reset, because of the fact that my latest project is so alpha atm, and not only that, but it would start setting back alot of stuff, + not every one is endgame, so i say vote for us to wait for redpower 1.5.
i have mixed emotions on this. I LOVE my village. And, not even done with it yet. I'm kind of end game with everything else though. So, while I love the idea of starting fresh, I hate the idea of losing stuff. I'll be there whatever. I like that the mining world can have all the new stuff, and we can reset all the other worlds and not the overworld.
That is just like saying we will all die someday so why don't we just kill ourselves now. The full reset can wait. I like the idea of Resetting all the worlds except for the claimed chunks in the normal world. Terra-forming wouldn't be nearly as tedious as starting over completely from scratch. I'm still in mid-game and I know plenty of others that are to. Right now, I don't believe that resetting is the best idea, especially after the recent introduction of a new mod (Fossils).
Could you please define 'move builds over', would it have to be in the projects section of the forum. Or how would it happen?
Not only like that, but resetting, and bringing over builds isn't really that good of an idea, people that have these good projects would need to put them on hold while they get up to a point to when they could actually begin working on them.
I think it is worth a try to convert the world to 1.5; just tell people that it may or may not work and if doesn't work then we'll have to reset anyway. But it's still a better option than just resetting.
