There is a way to detect if the server is crashed, but the problem is that the same person is going to rejoin immediately, over and over and over.

When it crashes it should save an error report somewhere.

It doesn't crash -- it locks up.

Crash errors are often caught by changes I made to the server so they rarely present a problem, but lock ups are much more of a pain to fix. It is possible for me to inject a stop into the thread so it restarts on the next tick, but the problem generally just repeats itself.

hmm, I wonder if there is a way to detect when a player is in a bad chunk causing a crash, then use that to trigger moving their player's location to spawn when they are offline. Would take a ton of work, and would not prevent the player from returning to that chunk either, unless it notified them... Probably not worth it.

And lol, I meant the client crash, to get at the root of what is actually causing the chunk corruption. Usually it is frames, but this is in the over world so it is something different.

The chunk i am currently stuck in is part of someones WIP base from what i can see see so i cant see any reason for it to crash there, however i have found huge holes left behind from what looks like a frame machine in the ground round about this area so maybe this is related somehow?

Crash issues are rare and unique enough to make that not very worthwhile. Each time there's a problem, it's usually some brand new issue. There's really not much worth in trying to automatically fix the problems, and ignoring the errors can hide bigger problems.

    Probably not.

My suggestion was basically for the mining world with the frames, as that seems to be what corrupts chunks the most. IDK if there is a way to automatically fix corrupted chunks, but I guess if there is a way to detect it to get the player out then there must be a way to detect it to repair it.

There must be something causing all these chunks to fail.
I encountered a chunk of this nature in the mining world that created the same process freeze upon approach.
I was quite fortunate to have the ability to get away from it, so it seems!

What is it about the chunk that has done thins?
The only thing I ever did to my mining world chunk was place landmarks and quarry about its location.
Has this chunk near the bazaar suffered any similar influences perhaps?
Might be filler, or digger related?

If the exampled filler was involved, I'd have bad times at my base. I mostly used it for the underground part.
    -Just saying-

There has possibly been a filler involved in the chunk i am in too as there are landmarks set out ready.

So, can my location data be changed as well or is the problem fixed. It's just a filler in the location where I am standing that is most likely causing the corruption.

  16. The update is complete! Just wait till you are un-suspended (if you are suspended that is) and it might work
